I just recently tried to install a S-AFC that I had laying around on my Scion tC.... I had seen pictures of the S-AFC on other websites in tCs but I could never find a vehicle specific install guide for it... thus like idiot I am, I used the install steps of a S-AFC II figuring that the basic color codes were the same minus the knock sensor... The first time I hooked it up, I installed the throttle sensor wire using the pinout map from fairladyz541 install of his S-AFCII... Thats when my problems started... I finished the install step for step and when I turned on my car the CEL came on and the engine seems to want to die when I press the gas too fast. I checked the monitor function and realized that there was no signal from the Throttle wire. I found a different pinout from Greddy ultimate emanage install that called for the Throttle in a different place.... after I made the switch, car still does the same thing... its one o'clock in the morning... I gotta work tomorrow.. and I need my baby to ride good... please help..Thanx...

BUT, it still is uncooperative with the tC platform.... Parts Pimp is the only guy who knows how to make it fully work with the tC platform

 

The Apexi manual has a printout for specific ECUs, and what wires are supposed to be connected where.

 

i looked up the apexi website and it didnt show an application for the tC only bb and ist... i didnt see the 2az-fe engine code listed either... unless i overlooked it, maybe its something we have to torture out of parts pimp j/k pp

 

I have the manual that came w/ mine, what's the engine and chassis code?

I've found someone who's offering me a deal on a unit, so I'll need the schematics to use it.

 

Thanx anyway... I unhooked the throttle and the air flow sensors and now its just running the rpm *sucks* I was really lookign forward to seeing some improvements... Gues I'm gonna have to break down and by th headers and cat back...
