Hmm I don't know what you guys might think about it but i would say you have to actually sit in your own car and listen to the exhaust to believe how nice it sounds. Its my first exhaust and it doesn't sound honda or too ricey. but it does look ricey if your not turboed or something. i think the tip is like 4.5 which shocked me when i saw it but oh wells sounds nice was all i cared about.

I love my HKS and I have it for one year and six months.... but.... I'm very disappointed at HKS for not making a CAT-BACK for the tC. Why can't HKS make one or why can't they make a mid-pipe and s-pipe along with HKS hi-power. Only HKS axle-back will give me probably 3 to 5HP compare ARK N2 exhaust true dyno proven of 12HP gain cat-back.

okay so i took a look at the dynos posted from ARK performance and i have to call complete BS.

they dynoed the tC stock at: 135hp and 145 torque, which is perfectly fine and normal.

however with just the addition of either of their catbacks they got: 153hp and 156tq!!

c'mon now, how in the world can you gain almost 20HP from a catback on the tC!!

i just dont believe it, their must be something wrong with the dyno's or they were dyno'd with other parts not mentioned.

i love ARK products, and i know they are quality, however these dyno results are just, in one word, exaggerated.

Who knows, ARK might be one special exhaust out there. After I viewed the ARK N2 and the sounds, I totally love it so I'm more likely going to get the ARK N2 and sell my HKS. HKS Hi-power is still a wonderful exhaust but it an axle-back which I don't want that but I was happy with the sound, not the performance. Now ARK N2 came in, the sound and the performance is what made me more happier.

unfortunately i havent dynoed it...nor do i plan to because it is not really cost effective to pay for the dyno just to see the results of the exhaust...but i can notice the difference between just the ARK N2 exhaust and my old combo of HKS hi-power and Injen CAI...the ARK produces a little more hp than that combo...which was probably only about 7whp if that. But, i do enjoy this exhaust very much and it's my favorite mod yet

YES!!! they shipped my HKS muffler today. scheduled delivery: Monday!

so:

2 1/2 pipe from the headers >>> Magnaflow 22" resonator >>>HKS muffler = HKS cat back.

it does not equal an HKS Catback, its a custom exhaust with HKS muffler, thats it.

and are you getting your piping done at a normal muffler shop? if so, then you will have a messed up exhaust system.. from 2 1/2 then to about 2 at the bends, then 2 1/2 on the straights, then 2 at the bends again, then 2.25 at the axle back.

thats if its crush bent.

also, your best bet is to get s-pipe that is already made for our car, you do not want a crush bent s-pipe, otherwise you shouldnt have even upgraded.

also, the stock s-pipe is 2.25 inch MANDREL bent iirc, so that is PERFECT for an N/A tC. going bigger, is pointless. also, if your going to co crush, might as well just make the axle back and save your money.

khm.. cat back means: changing the exhaust from the cat. so.. u have no cat.. only midpipe with resonator if you want.
so.. u got the same thing if u buy a megan cat back.. new midpipe.. resoantor and new muffler. this is what im going to get. midpipe, resonator and muffler.

that doesnt make any sense, but.. your still not getting an HKS CATBACK, you only have an HKS muffler, with muffler shop piping

axle back : piping from the rear axle and muffler.

[so u can buy an axle back exhaust or just buy a muffler and let the local muffler shop weld it to a pipe from the axle back =same sh*t.
Cat back:piping from the s pipe, deleting the cat and resonator - you can buy a cat back exhaust, wich is a midpipe, resonator and a muffler.. or you can buy a resonator and a muffler and let the local muffler.. blablabla... same thing.. same parts.. so tell me what is so difficult to understand?

i fully understand what the parts of an exhaust system are, what i didnt understand was your grammar.

anyways.. i am just sayin that you do not have an HKS catback, you have a custom exhaust with an HKS muffler.. THATS ALL.

also, you have it wrong:

1) Cat Back Exhaust: Exactly what it says, it is directly from the catalytic converter to the muffler tip. It does not start at the s-pipe, otherwise that is not a tru catback, that is an S-pipe/downpipe back exhaust, which would be illegal here in california.

even though alot of these companies say that they are catbacks, they truly arent.

the only ACTUAL cat backs i know of are from these companies:
-Magnaflow
-ARK

and thats all that comes to mind.

Why are you even bringing up crush bent pipe? The majority of muffler shops will do a compression bend, not crush. You could crush bend exhaust piping yourself, although I wouldn't recommend it.
