Default HKS Hi-power install

Can anyone give me some pointers? I can't get the dammn thing in! First, the bolts to the mid-pipe don't go on all the way. (the spring loaded ones) I can get one on right, but then the other side doesnt "close",
second, the rubber hanger that's closest to the bumper doesn't line up to both the metal bracket on the exhaust and the one on the car. to get the exhaust in the rubber thing, I would have to push the whole thing about two inches into the car.

I'm just lost, and I need my car tonight.

any help???

please and thank-you's

I gave up on my stock bolts long ago and bought new ones,no springs.

the one on the can itself is a pain to mount, the hanger on the car goes in to the metal on the can,but the second leg of it goes kinda inside the hanger or on the out side side of it,just work with it you will find it,

once you got the can hanger on mount up the pipe hanger and then bolt up,if you got a new cannister that came with the middle hanger that goes on the crossmember it is kinda self explaining at that point,it keep the pipe from hitting the chain down hook.

Thank you, but do you think you could explain that last step a different way. I'm just not sure as to what you're talking about because I bought it used and didn't recieve any hardware at all with it.

What am I supposed to do with that middle hanger that goes over the cross member?

I got the exhaust in today, but the damn thing just wants to try and stick out the middle of my rear and not through the whole so I had to use a bunch of zip ties to keep it off to the side.

its only temporary though until I can either get it in there the right way, or come up with something while I install my resonators

mine did not have the center bracket to mount tot he crossmember either as I got used as well.

but the hanger on the can has two parts, the one with the ball on the end that goes in the rubber hanger from car.but the other one on the can is the one that lets you adjust how it sits under the car,I put my second part on the out side of the rubber hanger, passenger side of the rubber hanger,I also had to lower my hanger about 1/4" using the bottle cap method since I did not have the bracket for the middle hanger,it kept hitting the crossmember at idle.

So I thought I'd bump this thread instead of making a new one.. I picked one up and mine didn't come with a bracket for the crossmember either but I ziptied it for now.. The owner is supposed to find it and give to me later. Anyway, I was wondering what you guys torqued the bolts to? I tried the standard 35 for the TRD but it would NOT click.. Did you guys just hand tighten it until you couldn't anymore?

ok im being stupid because i actually have the bracket thing but i dont know where im supposed to mount it? when i finished up hooking it up to the other hangers and bolting it in i was left with the bracket and i couldnt quite tell what to do with it as it was getting dark. as it is the exhaust jiggles a bit much more than im comfortable with but i test drove it and was fine. i would still like to complete the installation though.

the bracket mounts to the crossmember between the wheels facing up and the rubber hanger goes on it tothe other mount point on the pipe.....

So my zipties that I tied from the exhaust hanger to the crossmember snapped.. except the one I poked through the rubber hanger hole and connected to the xmember.. Is there a high chance of it burning my bumper? It sits a little closer than I'm comfortable with for now but I've drove around for a few and it hasn't burned it yet.

The crossmember is just the bar with the big hole, little hole, big hole, etc. It goes on the little hole IIRC.

Hm.. I wouldn't feel safe using zipties on my exhaust, lol. Get some thick wires and string it up. The paper/heatshrink wrapping will burn, but the copper itself won't melt.

mine was a little close to the bumper as well so I got a longer rear rubber hanger and lowered it 1/2" down and no issues......till I put on the 5 Axis kit, went on a long road trip about 3 weeks out of paint and got a blister on the paint,no biggie though as I have to really look to see it,have not had any issues after that though....HKS is my favorite exhaust so far.

I think there is a thread on here with pics on how to install this exhaust. It's from a few years ago. I used it to figure out where the bracket mounted on the cross member. Look for it.

So for whoever that didn't have the bracket thing that connects to the crossmember.. If you ziptied it or anything, did it burn your bumper? I had it on for an hour or two driving around but didn't feel safe so I took it off

By the way.. here is a picture of where the hanger that sits over the crossmember should go. (For those that were curious)
