a new head will get you to about 7800 but its not really worth it. why do you want a higher redline?

yeah the gears are over b4 u know it...... i love the scion tc but gotta give it to honda development.....for getting up to 8,000 rpm

at 6k rpms the tc's motor is already screaming, i cant see it going any higher then that.. wouldnt feel right.

you can really take it to 7800 with the zpi head? what will the vvt-i be doing at those rpm's? the computer won't know what to do at those rpm's will it?

Since thre vvt-i is alaways on, it will just adjust the timing the same. It does not depend on RPM kick off like the Honda system.

I think you'll need e-manage just to get the engine up to the higher RPM then you'll need the internals to handle that kind of engine speed.
07 MY engine and ECU lets the car get to 6600 (thats where fuel cut should be).

A higher redline would not be very beneficial unless the motor was modified in such a way to continue making power beyond the current peak point.

Very true, and with our bore ans stroke do not complement that. Also u have to look for tranny heat for such high RPM.
