how to clean engine bay?
Hey all,
I was wondering how some of you guys clean up your engine bays so nicely. for example, what kind of products or cleaning agents (if any) do you use, and how do you use them (what places are good to use them on)? what kind of cloth or what do you use to wipe off dirt and grime? etc...
and has anyone cleaned the inside of their CAI piping? i use a TRD intake and the inside is slightly greasy from the filter oil that is required for the TRD filter.
thanks in advance!

I use this stuff called Greased Lightning Blast that I got from Walmart. I follow instructions on the bottle and some I found on Youtube for a Challenger I think it was. Bascially cover electrical components and whatnot. I finish it off with Meguiar's Natural Shine.
Yields this result:
Can't tell it had at least 60k miles in that pic huh?

Simple green. Buy a $1 spray bottle, dilute 1 cup into the full bottle, and go to work. Use soft shop towels (ie terry cloth, or whatever you would remove WAX with from your exterior).
For your intake pipe, use this stuff called NOXON. Its a metal polish that will give it a mirror shine.
Whenever I do my engine bay, I do wrap the electronics up with a plastic bag (like from the grocery store) and a rubber band. Simple, and effective. 99% chance nothing would go wrong with the electronics, but its like a condom. Ya just dont know

lol Robert, EXACTLY why i started the thread in the first place!
thanks guys for the replies, its good info
Btw, is the NOXON stuff safe for use on the intake since its not a metal finish? the TRD intake is like coated black chrome or something, not like the usual polished chrome finish like on the injen intake. and where would you buy that (aside from online)
