Default How do you install rod bearings/oil pump?

does anyone with mechanical knowledge of the tc engine know how to install rod bearings and re-install the oil pump? not my car but a friends was in the dealer and they did not honor the warranty and they took out the oil pan and oil pump and left it in a box, a gave him the car that way. Just needed new bearings and since we didnt take out the oil pump we have no idea if there is a certain way to put it in because of the gears and need to know if the gears need to be lined up a certain way. the repair manual doesnt really give any information on this

Is the chain just hanging on the shaft or did they take the chain off the shaft? There isn't much too it if the chain is on the shaft the pump oil only has (3) 12 point bolt to it.

To change the rod bearings you need to drop the bottom half of the case unbolt the rods off the crank and swap the bearings. Taking off the crank will make it easier to change the bearings but a MUCH longer time. (have to split the tranny) It's a LOT of work but can be done. with the motor in the car. Thats ONLY if the bearing journals are good, if not the engine needs to go to a machine shop.

Thats just the tip of the iceburg...I built my engine on a stand so thats as much help as i can offer.

But since your asking how to put an oil pump in I think your best bet is to take it to a mechanic!!!
You are obviously not qualified to do that kind of work...
