How do you make a tC RWD?
i have a 2010 Scion tC and I wanted to swap the engine for a 350 or something a little smaller. And also wanted to swap the differential for a rear differential.
What would all need to be done for that and would I be able to get my hands on quality rear end that would work? And would I need to do anything special to make that motor work with it?

I'm saying like tanner foust did with the supra rear end and the toyota engine from the truck series. That set up is something that I am looking to do. straight project car, but no one on here knows anything about doing that?
why dont you get in touch with the people that built Foust's car...?
or better yet,
BUY A RWD CAR instead of cutting up a brand new $20K tC.
no sense in destroying a car that your prob still paying for.

im not flaming you but it will take a massive rebuild, instead of doing that to a new car, but a flood damaged totaled one and do that one sice all the wiring and everything else will have to be changed anyways
right. it's the only car i have for a project so i was planning on doing whatever to it. I don't know a whole lot, money isnt a thing, i figured it could be done. I dont have to be the one to make the conversion to be the dude to drive it, thats a fallacy that alot of you live by
its the only car you have so your going to do a RWD conversion in a day?
right.
if money isnt a thing, then yes, your right, it can be done.
take it to a shop.
we just had one of these threads a couple days ago but the OP wanted to make an AWD tC.
ill tell you the same thing i told him, im not trying to insult you in any way but from what youve shown us so far, i dont think you have the skills or knowledge needed to perform a swap like this.
its not just a basic bolt up and go, you will need tons of research and fabrication. (that means custom parts) if you have the money, take it a shop, realize that youll end up paying more for the swap then you did for the car itself. Your better off taking the money and buying a car that is RWD from the factory. Check out 350Z's or Genesis.
Hypothetically speaking,
you bought a $20K car
you have the money to spend to the swap ($20K roughly)
Total-$40K
and you want to drift it? with no corporate sponsors? so when you hit a wall, or flip the car, or get to close in a tandem, your $40K is gone?
insurance doesnt cover track events.
its makes alot more sense to go out and spend a couple thousand on a beater car to drift since "money isnt a thing"
right.
