Default how to get 20 more whp???

alright guys here goes, i went and had my car dynoed in like march and at that time i had Injen SRI, DC 4-2-1 headers, AERO 14" resonator (not really for power but it effects exhaust flow) and trd exhaust and i dynoed at 160 whp and 161tq which i thought was pretty good, i have a solid torque curve from 2500 all the way up, but i'm looking for a little more pep so i converted from SRI to CAI and got rid of the trd exhaust and picked up a greddy evo 2. haven't been dynoed since but i can feel its a little stronger not by much though, so i'm looking to upgrade, so what should i do? heres what i was thinking

getting rid of my dc sports headers and trying to get my hands on a set of MMW headers and s-pipe because from what i read those will get me the most power

either buying or having a custom made 2.5" midpipe made at an exhaust shop

and adding a water/meth injection to my car either devils own, snow performance or the AEM one

i'm looking for around 180whp because then i'm cutting into SI and type S territory i'm not looking for crazy speed but enough to hold my own and pull a nice 1/4 time

i know this can be done to get to 180whp, because a friend of mine had a tc with injen cai, i think he either had MMW headers or Alphawerks, or are they the same? and a full 2.5" magnaflow exhaust and he dynoed at 179whp, he still has the dyno sheet and i'm working on getting it so i can scan it

also i dont want to be too loud but it basically goes the louder you are the more power...well sometimes...so can anyone think if how i should have the mid-pipe built after the s-pipe to still make power and keep the noise down? thanks guys!!!

no really the pulley will give you like 10 whp, thats definatly something to be at the top of your list. Having a 2.5 custom mid-pipe built with a big resonator is a great idea too!

Alright cool I'm working on the midpipe being built, I'm actually more curious as to the headers, like if its worth it for me to shell out the extra cash for the mmw headers or not

no, headers are headers really. you could maybe net 1 or 2 more horses so if thats worth it do you then go for it but I'd stick with what you've got...

headers arent just headers. they are one of the few mods that actually add a difference. they void your warranty though an cause rasp.

might as well add stage 2 cams also. they really feel like they added add to the cars powerband. I'm hoping to be in the 180 whp range n/a when i get tuned in a month or so.

You will pickup a good bit of useable HP but peak you will only gain very little. I have the AEM standalone.

Port and polish your head and get a stage I or II cam and get high compression pistons.

why would a header void your warranty? never heard that before...

It won't void your entire warranty just the emission and exhaust because you changed it.

A NST pulley set and a e-manage might do you some good.

Yea I had a fuel management but I recently sold it bc I wasn't s/c anymore (I kno I shoulda kept it but loooooong story) I'm not looking to spend too much money so maybe I'll avoid an engine management because I'm not mesisng too much with the a/f's nd such so I'm leaning towards upgrading headers, full exhaust and possibly the water/meth as of right now, I'm also going to consider a pulley set and the cams, I'm still looking for more input about the header thanks

if you do cams you're gonna need tuning

the pulley should be a must but I wouldn't do the water/meth if i were you. And really changing the header isnt worth the hassel for 1 or 2 hp at most. If you really care take care of it after everything else but it should be low priority, the one you have now is fine

The DC header is 4-1. The MMW is a true 4-2-1 and includes the spipe. I'd switch if I were you... along with what everyone else has suggested anyway.

Yea I gotta see if I can get my hands on a mmw header for a good price, another reason I want it is cuz of the s-pipe as well, also batman jw why you say to avoid the water/meth injection? From what I know it offers better cooling, helps clean your motor and as a biproduct you gain some hp I'm also going to do some research on the pulleys
