Default how to make my exhaust quieter

i have a custom cat back exhaust 2.5

what can i do to quiet down my exhaust? if i had a resonator will it make it not as loud?..i don't want to add a silencer because i think tho's make it sound horrible

would it help alot if i cut the can off and bought a different one and welded it on?(last resort lol)

please help me out with this, gotta stay away from tho's tickets. thanks !

I'm running a custom 2.5" header back exhaust system(magnaflow exhaust), with a 40"resonator, it sounds really nice when I hit it and its quiet when i wanted it to be, I'm had cops behind me and I know for a fact they can't hear it, hope that helps.

yea a long resonator welded on would usually do the job.

A resonator does not make a car "quiet" it silences rasp, but does NOT silence noise from an exhaust, that's what a muffler is for.
