how many anti-foulers can you put in the o2 sensor
last night i put 2 antifoulers in the secondary o2 sensor and my CEL came back on like 10 minutes into driving...i already have a o2 simulator which never worked...i was wondering if i add more anti-foulers to put the o2 sensor even farther away will this hurt the sensor/car in anyway???my megan header are the one making the sensor come on
If 2 don't work, it's likely that additional foulers wont either.
Firstly, check to see that you did it right. You should have drilled through the end of one of the foulers, and screw this modified fouler into the second one (that stays unchanged). This makes a little chamber for your sensor, so that it observes less of the exhaust stream to simulate the action of a cat. converter. Sensor -> drilled fouler -> undrilled fouler-> exhaust bung.
Having run the antifoulers successfully for over a year, I'm very prompted to think that incorrect application is the source of over 70% of antifouler failures. I installed a header with less than 2,000 miles on the clock, and installed the antifoulers at the same time. Now i've got 20,000 miles with no CELs.
Feel free to add a 3rd antifouler to your setup. Drill a hole through another one, and plug that into the other modded one. Try it out... however, realize that you're starting to run out of room under the car.
I think it has more to do with the level of drop in emissions that the sensor sees. Both sensors have to fall within a specific level of tolerances. In addition, the sensor might have been damaged in the application... this would throw the same CEL as 2 working sensors and no cat.

If you have the antifoulers and are still throwing a cel here is a good (FREE if you still have the stock exhaust manifold) fix.
1. Knock the catalyst out of the manifold. It will come out in big chunks.
2. Take your two antifoulers apart.
3. Cut a piece of catalyst to fit in the antifouler. Be careful not to make it to thick or you will smash it when you screw the two antifoulers together.
4. Install back into car.
5. Reset check engine light.
6. No more cel.
**This modification is only necessary if you already have the antifoulers installed and are throwing a cel**
I have had to do this in a couple of different vehicles where the antifoulers did not work. I have yet to have any cels after doing this. I can not guarantee that it will work for everyone else but for the cost it is worth a try.

Sorry no pictures. Its really pretty simple though. It might take you a few tries to get the catalyst cut right. You just have to make sure not to crush it between the two antifoulers and also you want it snug so it does not rattle around and break up over time.
