HP racing Headers
There are some local guys who bought and they said it felt just fine. Only problem for one of them was that some bolts went off. The header was hanging from 2 or 3 bolts I think.
I bought HP Headers and dyno tested. My car gain from 138hp to 146hp at the wheel. I donnt remember how much gain in torque. The problems with the bolts is these header needs to eliminate the up bolts and replace it with a larger ones. And yes, needs a antifouler mod to eliminate the sucking Check Engine Light.
I've got the HPR header and it works great. Very little rasp too. I think it helped out a bit. It definately doesn't feel like stock. Even when I had it on before the s-pipe and exhaust, it still gave it a nice boost. Only problem is that it's "stainless steal." Mine now has some rust on it. Kind of weird how "stainless steel" can rust huh? I'm getting the Alphawerks Header in the spring.
OK. GUYS THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION I DID THE DC HEADERS TRICK AND IT IS WORKING WELL, I DIDN'T GO FOR DYNO BUT AT SOON MY CAR IS DONE I WILL BE THERE FOR THAT. IT'S TRUE DOES NOT FEEL LIKE STOCK I CAN FEEL SOME DIFERENCE, THE RASPY SOUND IS GONE NOW I GET THE GREDDY CAT BACK TODAY I WILL KEEP YOU POSTING. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE DUST ON THE HEADERS IS A GOOD QUESTION "STAINLESS STEEL" CAN RUST????
Yeah, hey, no rush. It is a decent header for now. I'm pretty happy with it. I was only going to go to the Alphawerks b/c I was going to get it Jet Coated and multiple tCs have my setup and with the Alphawerks header have noticed good numbers on the track. Dynos are numbers without resistance. The track is where we should pay more attention anyways. Dynos are just freespinning numbers.
The HPR header is pretty nice and comes in a great finish. It'll do the stainless steel thing and eventually turn purple, but the rust isn't something horrible. It's been raining here a lot the past month and I've only now started to see little spots. Just rub them off with your finger when it happens. It should last through the winter and after New Years, then I'll go ahead and order the Alphawerks setup.
Good luck

I have full confidence in dynos for the fact that they will give you accurate numbers of what your engine is putting down to the wheels and that you can tune your engine safely. I simply believe and have found that the track gives you your actual "performance" vs. a computer generated statistical display. Technically, they both do about the same thing, and yes you are correct that only doing track tests can hurt your car. I was simply saying that dyno runs are good for numbers your engine puts out, but the track is where you test driver AND car. That's all.
