Just a heads up for those of you with a CAI... 3 days ago I sucked water into my injen cai and now am getting a new engine... Did about $7000 worth of damage. I will be running an AEM bypass valve once the new engine is in.

 

how deep was the water?

 

up to the door sills.... which isn't very deep considering I'm on s-techs

 

With that amount of water and the car being lowered im not surprised, and don't think a bypass valve will help too much.

 

right, it was stupid of me to attempt to drive through it... I should have known better... I learned the expensive way though..

 

I'm assuming your forking out the money for it? or is your insurance doing it...if they even do that type of stuff? That sucks though, for 7k you should just get a built block though! Makes it easier for F/I

 

Insurance is covering it... Thank god... The dealership told me if I can get the internals they can build it with the new block for no extra charge... so I can go f/i later on.

 

Sweet deal then! I'd do that so you dont have to pay for it later.

i ve blown a motor hydrolocking, it sucks..engine sucked up water on a friday...and the engine blew on a monday.. :-(

 

Man, that really sucks. At least you don't have to pay out of pocket for everything. Lesson learned?
