Running cars at high RPM's for engines that weren't built for it (aka. tC's) will shorten the life of your engine and transmission due to the excessive wear.

listen bro, were not trying to flame you, well some of us that was probally something you could of just kept to yourself and move on. If you starting feeling tranny problems and about 100 miles to the tank then i would of starting asking questions. But other than that! When driving, leave it in "D" dont mess with the others.

Someone didn't read the manual... or use common sense... 4 speed auto gearbox... and you don't count the shifts?

Please learn how to pay more attention to your car and the road... honestly.

I'd be more for a driving APTITUDE test instead of a driving test. It's the morons that switch lanes because the person they're following is too slow....but then DRIVE TEH SAME SPEED. These morons block traffic...and it's best when they switch lanes and make a person going 20 mph faster than them who was in that lane slow down abruptly.

Then they have the nerve to flip that person off as they speed around them.

Idiots that slam on their brakes as a response to anything other than a road being in front of them. Nevermind the fact that there is nothing in front of them and they could speed up to avoid the obstacle. The solution is to slam on your brakes, come to stop, blink 100 times while their slow ___ minds compute how stupid they are and what a traffic jam they've created, then go.

Just the other day this moron decides to pull over onto the shoulder right at an onramp entrance. I hope someone clipped him and sprayed him all over the highway. Not only did he make everyone on the onramp slam on their brakes, I wonder what the hell happened when he tried to get going again. Morons like this complete idiot that is merging & stoping into a lane that speeds up and is trying to merge out should have their licenses revoked and a kick to the groin for being such an idiot.

If they took a test seeing what people's reactions are to various situations instead of taking a stupid driving test where people are barely required to even know what the signs on the road say, I wonder how much less traffic there would be.

this girl I know did that in her PT cruiser for just 20 minutes. It roasted the tranny and got stuck in 3rd gear. Some how her parents talked the dealer into thinking it was a factory defect and got it fixed for free! I think they left the part about driver error out of it.
I have a question for Baydlett. Did you ever try to max out your tC and notice how you could only hit like 90??? That should have been a dead give away something wasn't rite.

5 months ???

Man you guys are all mean! Thank goodness I live in MN where we actually like other people. Everyone does stupid stuff, just in diff ways.

Totally agree on the drivers aptitude test. We drive more per capita than any other nation in the world. And its soooo easy to get a license.

Best way to make the roads a safer place. Retest on drivers test every ten years.

All right men know you'r making me feel bad , I just think this is very funny because I really saw somebody trying to accelerate the car by turning the key, of course the GUY didn't know how to drive. Now back to topic, Baydlett I would say don't hesitate to use your warranty if your car starts running weird. Try to test the tranny and look for good shifting, no abrupt ones. they should be smooth, even @ WOT. Or if you want to play safe go tell your dealer that the car is shifting funny so they check the tranny for you for free.

Roasted the tranny in 20 minutes in 3rd? WTF? That shouldn't normally do any damage unless she had it floored the whole time.

One time I was at a VW dealer after test-driving a GTI. The sales-lady was explaining their warranty and said that one time some kid brought a new GTI back like 2 hours after he drove it off the lot. Clutch was roasted and the inside of the bellhousing was scorched. They couldn't get the kid to say exactly what he had done, but they figured the only thing it could've been was driving at highway speeds in 1st or 2nd gear. People do stupid shit sometimes.

Or he could have been riding it with his foot all the way down the highway... that would eat it up quickly too!
