Which IEH Piece would you get first
it will still be minimal regardless. Their isn't any particular order you need to buy this stuff in.
basically from cheapest to most expensive it would be:
intake -> exhaust -> header
of course depending on the exhaust and header your looking at that could change but intake is more than likely going to be the cheapest.
Either way you won't see much of a gain from any of these mods.

DING DING DING!
If you start buying this stuff, don't expect like 50hp or anything from it. Even if you buy ALL of it, you're looking at minimal gains. So here's my tip...
Find an intake that you like the look of... maybe a short ram. Then find an exhaust that you like the sound off... maybe just an axleback.
Buy those two things. Call it a day b/c then it'll at least look and sound decent. Save everything else to go turbo or get another car.

Well so far for my tC i bought an Injen CAI, Tsudo midpipe, and a TRD axleback. All I can say is it sounds cool. I wouldnt bother with headers, they give you very little to no performance gain and make your car sound like ____. I plan to get an s-pipe as soon as I can get my hands on one.
I wouldnt expect any performance gain from either of these.

To me, and from what Ack said, the purpose of the tC, unless you get boost, is to look good. Do the intake/exhaust and then start messing around with the exterior and interior. This car will not go fast w/o some sort of boost or nitrous (or cash for a built motor!). Even then, why not get a different car.
Personally I'd be putting money into suspension more than anything else... you'll get a lot more enjoyment out of the car that way. Get yourself a good set of springs (not f'ing stechs) and a rear sway bar (if you haven't already).
thats what i did. suspension was first. best money i ever spent.
I'd get an axle back first for looks and sound, but just as these guys have said all these bolt ons will probably leave you slightly disappointed as far as performance. Ack and Deja are also right, suspension upgrades will yield most enjoyment since you handle your car at all speeds constantly. Stock header is real restrictive with the primary cat, but is pointless if you don't have the other exhaust freed up. Good luck with your decision!

Exactly what I am doing.
first thing i got was TRD Sway and front Strut Tie bars, and then HKS axelback, now i have the Injen SRI
I got a pretty good deal on the HKS axelback and the injen SRI
50% off in a ALL NEW injen SRI and some one locally sold me a hks axelback for $200 (new at $400) and helped me put it on

when you guys say little to no gains are you talking about 5 hp gain for the whole IEH or up to 20-30? after i slap on the injen SRI i felt the difference an increase at the high end torque, after 4000 rpm
No, your butt dyno felt the difference. You probably lost torque or stayed the exact same. It's the placebo effect.
Now you take a stock 3000GT turbo or Supra, gut the cat, do a free boost mod, and maybe even spring for an axle-back...now THAT you would feel.
I put a K&N cold air intake on my ride knowing full well what it was going to do for me. Jack sh**. Same goes for most exhaust work.
My advice? Spend your $200 and get springs and HID's. Then later get an intake and an axle-back that you like the SOUND of. That clip up above of the Injen mated up to the TRD exhaust sounds great.
Don't even think about buying headers unless you want to sound like a mobile weed-whacker.
