Default Injen Hydro Shield

Anyone have this or tried it?

http://www.injen.com/7030_hydro.html

Or how about the Injen Polished Aluminum Heat Shield? This piece actually looks pretty nice, but I'm planning to use my intake as a SRI and it probably won't fit.

save $50 and just install the CAI, unless you know you drive in flood prone areas, you won't hydrolock. the area where the CAI goes is pretty well protected from water, you literally have to drive through like 2 feet of water

My K&N came with the Hydro Shield. I bought it from someone though, so I'm not sure if he put it on there. But I think K&Ns come with it. Yes I know you have/want Injen, just though I'd give you something to thing about.

Barely rains here in SoCali but eh better safe than sorry I suppose. I know people that have installed a AEM Bypass valve on their Injen CAI but you have to do some cutting, which would void any warranty by Injen. Just wondered if anyone actually used any of these things and if it helped or not.

that product would actually cause your intake to hesitate even more, just like the other dude on this forum complained about...

I want a hydroshield too, I just haven't ordered one yet. After the last big rain storm. I popped my hood and my InjenSRI did get a little wet. Only a few drops, but that's enough to convince me to buy one.

I don't believe the K&N comes with a hydro shield if you buy it from a distributor.

When I bought mine, it came with one in the factory box.

"Drychargers are included in all Cold-Air intake systems. Provides added protection by repelling water from entering the intake tract."

Well, guess I stand corrected.

Im gunna pick up one of the Injen Hydroshield while my Injen CAI is on its way. It can't really hurt considering K&N ship all their CAI with one, plus I plan on cutting into the corner bumper openings for fog lamps in the future which may bring in additional water splatter.

You can get one here: http://www.ptuning.com/html/search-r...ategory=hydros

I live in Portland, Oregon check out our forecast http://www.weather.com/weather/tenda...nav_undeclared this is what I deal w/almost everyday ask WDS here on the board. We both have our CAI installed and never had a problem w/ours. I have had mine about a good 6-7k miles on it. Just don't drive into puddles, the filter sits high enough that chances are unlikely (but still can happen). I was thinking about a hydroshield etc... but I was like hey why waste $50 on something that is not waterproof (Going FI in a few months). Just speaking from my experience, I guess it's better safe than sorry.

The endless water worries with the CAI....

Where our CAI sits, and how much water it'd take to do anything the effect our engine in the smallest amount... I have absolutely not a worry in the world about water...

It's not too expensive for peace of mind.... but that's ALL it'd get you IMHO.

I've used it before. Its just like a nylon type filter cover. It helps keep some water off the filter and keeps the filter cleaner!

Well I just got mine in the mail today, now I just got to wait for the intake to ship and get here ha. If nothing more then keep the filter cleaner and free of bugs I say it's worth it.

On a side note.. I somehow got picked as the #1 Top Rated ride on Cardomian.com this week thanks to all the Scion TC fans out there Anyways, it is exciting to me and makes me feel good about my hard work & much money spent with no sponsors or help of any kind. Please check my ride out @ http://www.cardomain.com/ride/122100 Show my TC some love and support the Scion experience.......To the haters out there, don't bother, I will only delete negative comments. ~Tony~

Well guys I finally got the Injen CAI on after a minor backorder and some cold weather up here in NJ. The Injen HydroShield is a great item, it will not obstruct air flow while at very least help keep your filter clean & debris free. And for $25 it costs who can't afford the reassurance that you won't be sucking up water in any shape, form or conditions either.
