Default Injen Intank with stock exhaust

Does anybody have just an intake (CAI), either injen or k&n with the stock exhaust. It seems to me that getting an intake without an exhaust might be kinda pointless because the stock is so restricted. Is there actually a noticable gain? To me it makes since that if you are taking in more air with a CAI you would need to be able to flow it out more efficiently in order to see any gain in HP. Also, are the gains on Injen's and K&N web sites with a bone stock car? does anybody know or have dynoed the car themselves to find the true HP gain. I know it differs from car to car and location, ect but before I drop $250 I would like to know.

if it's pointless to just have a CAI don't you think it will be pointless to just have a CAI w/ exhaust? i personally don't think it's pointless to just have an intake. some cars come w/ not so restricted pipping so an intake will do fine by itself. i'm not too familiar w/ the pipping on the tc but if it's restrictive like you say it is then get some headers too that way it will be an even flow.

people usualy get intakes first, then an exhaust later.

No "mod" is pointless. if it was you wouldnt do it now would you?

Thanks for the responses. I didn't mean to say that a CAI is totally pointless. I was just curious if it would work well by itself on the tC. I think I will order the Injen tomorrow and start saving for an exhaust? Any ideas on a low tone exhaust?

you may appreciate it more if you do grouped mods. i.e. intake, header, catback.

this will just require the patience to save the money and not order it piece by piece

I have the Injen CAI with stock exhaust and the difference is noticable. I've actually had my intake for about 3-4 months... I've just been waiting for others to get it to see what it sounds like with different exhausts/headers before I put money down on an exhaust just to discover it sounds like ___.

Since the intake is a CAI there is no need for a heat shield (no heatsoke as in a short ram) and i just ordered it from kuruma motoring on ebay. 230 with free shipping, only downside is if you are in cali like me b/c there is tax. all in all it was 254 shipped with tax! here is the link to his ebay store!
