Finally installed min about 15 min ago. Well worth the $20-something dollars if you already have a short shifter and the shifter housing/base bushings. With all of that combined, it's like a totally different car.

Thanks SpeedSource!

With a short shifter, the base bushings and the cable bushings, the shifting is very much improved. Comparing the shifting, it would be very different from driving a stock tC.

really stupid question here...

Those brass shifter bushings...do they go on the shifter end of the shift cables, or the transmission end?

I bought these things and am waiting their arrival, and I never even thought about where they go? Which end of the shift cables?

Which shifter bushings? The cable ones go on the transmission end. The base ones go at the shifter end.

Im looking into a short shifter / bushings for a next mod...

Question though: would it be worth it to get the cable bushing first and install that with a stock shifter?

or better to get short shifter first?

or, better to get short shifter and cable bushing at the same time?

Thanks in advance!

Cable Bushings with the stock shifter is a HUGE improvment. No more sloppyness. Go ahead and get em.

I was able to work around my intake. I would try to get at them without removing it first. It'll save you a lot of trouble even if it's a small PITA to work around it.

Thanks for the info! are there any recommended brands available?

i saw the Speed Source oned, just wondering if that is kind of the standard for the cable bushings?

With the SS bushings, is it a simple install? are there decent instructions?
Thanks!

Yeah, but you don't have the supercharger. There is absolutely no room on that side of the motor. I'll just remove the airbox.

OK, a few questions now... sorry!!

i saw the Speed Source one, just wondering if that is kind of the standard for the cable bushings? (also looked at Corsportuse.com)

With a stock shifter, would i get a benefit with shift base bushings AND cable bushings? or would it probably be better to just get cable bushings with a stock shifter set up. (i'll probably get a creative compacts shifter or b&m at some point, which would then have its own shift base bushings i believe).

Last but not least, how is installation?? i didnt see a how to in the tech section.. does a bushign kit come with instructions??

Thanks Everyone!! I had never even heard of shift cable bushings but seems like it is a friggin awesome mod to make!

the quality of the speed source bushings is TOP NOTCH! and they're brass not aluminum. I've had em on several toyotas and they rock!

It is an awesome mod for so little $$$. CorSport is a distributer for Speed-Source, the makers of the actual product.

They come with instructions when you get them. Just punch out the stock rubber ones with a screwdriver... put the brass ones in, apply the c clip and then put it back on the shift lever. Then secure with the pin. very easy.
