Intake CAI vs SAI
So I have a injen CAI and this afternoon i decided to make it into a Short ram. I noticed that the Short ram is Louder and i feel more power and better throttle response is this normal?
I would have thought that the CAI was better being that it was cold air....?
anyone else notice this...?

by the way, it's SRI not SAI.
You dont feel more power.. it makes a different noise and tricks your butt dyno.
In all practical physics, the SRI is worthless. The "physics" I have see given as to how they work is a joke..
The CAI only has the advantage that it delivers slightly cooler air, which is more dense, allowing more fuel to be burned, thus creating more power. However, the effect is not enough to notice without a dyno.. if even then over a short peice of the power band.
I have run the tC without the intake.. with a CAI and then without it again on the same car. Once your butt dyno gets past the cool sound you realize there is no percievable difference in power at all..
Just enjoy the way it looks and sounds.
And no, the air path is not shorter.. the air travelling into your engine is not isolated to the intake tube, that makes zero difference in the throttle response. The air is in the tube, at atmospheric pressure, regardless of the length of the tube, so it enters your throttle body at the exact same time regardless of the tube length.
The marketing for these things has really gotten a lot of people fooled.. and misguided when it comes to real physics.
I am sure I will get a lot of "I CAN FEEL MORE POWER" arguments.. and I am glad they are happy with thier purchase. But going by personal experience... and all laws of real physics.. you are not getting a real, useable gain in power.
