Intake Install Question

When I fabricated my intake, my local brick and mortar guy told me to be ABSOLUTELY sure the MAF sensor is at EXACTLY the same height. I also made sure to use exactly the same inside diameter as the factory used at the MAF.
That was about 2 months ago, and hundreds of miles driving and several races.
It isn't hard. It just needs to be right.
