and i know before you say it i did search went through like 5 pages and gave up lol. basically i was thinking about picking up ether a injen or weapon r using it as a short ram. but my question is are intake really worth it at all? i mean basically im asking would it be just as good maybe to just pick up a k&n drop in filter or?. lmk what your input is. thanks
Drop in filter would be an even bigger waste. Intakes do gain power, but not a whole lot. They're mostly just noise. I would say your money is better spent on an underdrive pulley or something.

i mean basically i dont have alot of plans for my car. just some stuff. turbo maybe way in the future. but basiaclly the intake is the only performance part i planned on doing. but after reading on the intakes seeing they didnt gain much. just was curious if it ws even worth it.

so basically instead of trying to spend 200+ on a intake maybe trying to find one cheaper through the ppc would probolly benifit me more. seeing as i really dont want to spend 200+ on a intake.
I got one, it looks cool thats about it. It does make the engine breathe better because it is sucking up air, but short ram won't do much, cai might be your best bet. Or you can do it the cheep way and as you are merging onto the highway make the sucking noise yourself. Shuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu schhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

yea i beleive im just going to go ahead and get one. bascially try and find a used one on the forums. looking at a few right now. thanks for the info everyone
yeah you wont see any power gains.. the ppc has an injen sri up for 120 shipped? let me get the link.
damn it sold haha well you'll probably see another one up soon. anyway the short ram sounds pretty beastly. my friend has one on his ep3 and its hella loud. gl finding one!

A used one will usually do well. I got my Injen CAI for dirt cheap on ebay. The filter just needed a little cleaning and the piping was scratched up, but it does its job. It's more of an excuse to take apart stuff in the engine compartment than anything else. The stock airbox takes up so much room if you ask me. I'm guessing it would've been a bigger pain in the butt to do some of the projects in the engine bay with the stock box in (shifter cable bushings, transmission fluid, coolant flush).
You'll get a little gain in power, but don't expect any miracles.

well i mean they sell that one the cai whick looks like it could be used as a sri. and that is only 72 bucks but they also sell a actual short ram intake. but that is 90 bucks. so its like 18 bucks more. for the short ram kinda wierd but maybe i will go ahead and pick up the short ram one.
My MAF sensor feels like it fits loosely on my Injen CAI, but the seal seems to hold alright. Is it properly seated? Check to make sure the screws are in good shape and the o-ring (does the sensor have an o-ring? gotta double check).
Just search the classifieds. Any of the big names for intakes will do. I cheap ebay one will do according to testimonials. But id opt for a K&N filter at least on an ebay intake. Juts go to a autozone or discount auto and find one with the correct diameter for the intake tube.
Oh and if your car is 05-06 get and 05-06 intake! 07-up you need 07-up intake. Different MAF sensor!!
