Default Just got 12 quarts Eneos 5w30 synthetic ... quick ?

How often should I change with the Eneos, I do almost 90% highway driving rarely ever going above 3,500 rpms. This webiste i saw says highway driving you can change every 15,000 miles with eneos and our cars which are supposed to be changed every 5k vs most cars 3k do you guys think I could go the 15,000 mile interval before I change.

"4. How often should I change my ENEOS oil? Oil change intervals will depend on your driving habit and type of vehicle. If you do a lot of “hard” driving, city driving or low speed/low frequency driving, we recommend oil changes at 3000 miles interval. ENEOS motor oil can last a minimum of 10,000 miles, but due to engine containments and byproducts, we recommend a more frequent change interval for the optimal protection. Vehicles that are driven more lightly, or see majority of highway driving can go to intervals of 15,000 miles plus. We still do suggest a routine check up of the condition of the oil every 3000 to 5000 miles or so to ensure optimal protection."

I was thinking maybe I should change it every 10,000 miles.... I really dont see the point in changing it out at 5k the recommended regular ____ty oil interval when this oil is so much better and consumption should be less.

also which oil filter ... TRD and the Amsoil filter seem pretty good, especially if i start going 10k miles I probably should get a really good filter that can hold more contaminants than the regular paper filter

I go every 5000 even with a good synthetic, but Im ****. I did every 3k w/ conventional.

Filter is really personal choice. They both will do the job. i say go w/ whatevers cheaper.

if your really trying to save gas use 0w-30 oil. Mobil1 has a new product thats 0w-20or30 which meets the standards of 5w-30. The lighter the oil, the more gas you save, as well as your oil gets more dirty. I used it on my tC and it ran fine, saved some gas, but after 2k miles i check the dipstick and oil is already dark for another oil change (still went 5k miles on it).

but anyways you shouldnt be using oil that lasts 15k miles. our cars are quite new, so wouldnt you wanna maintain a clean engine from the get go?

unless you wanna do it military style and never change your only, because they believe oil is just oil.

if you really wanna know when you should change your oil at the longest, check your dipstick. the darker it is, the dirtier.
the dirtier the worse gas mileage youll recieve

for my tC at 4k miles after a mobil1 oil change, i get the worse gas mileage. if you been driven on your tC for a few years now you should know when your getting the best gas mileage with the oil you regularly use.

i can tell you now if you try to put 10k miles on that oil you have, after 5k miles, your tC is gonna work harder because of all of the deposits picked up making your oil dirty. in other words your gonna have terrible gas mileage after 5k miles! i say change it at 5k, especially with our economy today!

well supposedly high quality FULL synthetics like Amsoil + Eneos dont break down like regular oil and other low quality synthetics. Oil consumption is less and as long as you are using a quality filter .. the filter should pick up most of the contanimants

I cant see spending 7 bucks for a quart of eneos or amsoil, 10 to 15 bucks for amsoil or TRD filter and changing at 5k ... it makes no sense ..... thats a total waste of money

especially since our cars are rated 5k interval with dino oil .....
arent some BMW's changed every 15k miles ??

I mean obviously at 5k i will check the dipstick and check how clean it is ... i gues we shall see : )

hey if you want to argue about what we're recommending, feel free to do whatever you want, its YOUR car, you'll have to live with the consequences, not us.

and checking a dipstick for what the engine oil will pick up? hahaha.. only if you're superman. Only way to know is to send it to a lab!

Always change oil at the mfr's recommended interval ... oil always picks up contaminants and moisture that your filter cannot remove.

To save money buy a cheaper full synthetic (you can get a 4 qt. jug of Mobil1 for 20 bucks or less) and instead of the "performance oil filter" which you probably don't need, get the 10-pack of OEM filters from Sparks ... works out to only $3.50 each.

Yea but isn't that interval 5,000 miles for regular oil .... Using Eneos, Mobile 1, Amsoil ... you really shouldn't have to change at 5k.

I think anyone who gets top quality synthetic and still changes at 5k is just a total waste of money, its even funnier when people change oil out at 3,000 miles to be

"on the safe side"

Thanks for that site though I will probably pick that 10 pack up, and stick with my 10,000 mile interval with Eneos. : )

If anyone else waits 10,000 miles per oil change using Amsoil or Eneos feel free to chime in!!!!!

I think me using strictly Eneos + Amsoil every 10,000 miles + quality filter will be a lot more beneficial for the engine than

crappy dino oil every 5,000 miles ... I gues we will have to see, I'm keeping my car till at least 200,000 miles : )

Oh and I am also driving about 95% highway 250 to 350 miles a week ... On the highway i cruise control it at 60-62mph ... Eneos even says you can go up to 15,000 miles highway driven Amsoil says 25,000

well I just ordered 6 Purolator PureOne filters for around $32.00 shipped!!! Cant beat that S H I T!!!!! : )

http://www.amazon.com/Purolator-PL14...6092174&sr=8-1

I think they are really good and should be good for extended interval(10,000 miles)

PureONE is the cheapest insurance available for your car today. Does it make sense to spend hundreds, or thousands, of dollars on automobile insurance each year, and then turn around and save a buck or two by purchasing an oil filter with less quality? PureONE features exclusive Micronic Filtration media that traps even the smallest particles of dirt and grime before they get to your engine - particles too small for conventional filters to catch. Which is why PureONE is the top ranked filter in SAE tests at keeping your oil pure - and why no other filter provides better protection for your engine. This product comes in blue or gold.

the genuine toyota paper filters end up costing 4.70 each after shipping so I think I got a better deal at around 5.00 even for Purolator PureOne filters
