Default Just Installed Injen CAI on my 08 tC

Here's some pics of the Injen intake installed on my 08 tC. One of the vibra-mounts came broken so I went to my local ACE Hardware and picked up a couple parts and made a completely perfect replacement vibra-mount. I am still emailing Injen and having them send me a new one. But here's what I did...unfortunately I didn't think to take pics till after I did the install and the fabbed vibra-mount is inside the fender. But this is basically what I did:
Broken Vibra-Mount

M6 (6mm) Bolt:
Rubber Stopper w/ hole:
6mm Fender Washer:

Everything fit like a champ and I had absolutely NO fit problems like NUMEROUS people stated w/ the Injen. I also used Doc I's fender panel.

haha, thanks...I should also note that I removed the front bumper which I believe made the install 10X easier than trying to mess w/ aligning the pipe through that hole w/ just the splash guard folded back. If you're going to install this intake..or any CAI..I would spend the extra 10mins and remove the front bumper. It will save you time in the long run I'm sure.

I think injen is one of the more time consuming intake to put in because you do have to take of the front bumper because of the position of the intake. But others like fujita, trd n etc. You will not need to take off the front bumper because u can just fold back the splash guard. Hope you like your new intake

F all that. I just left it as a SRI. I couldn't justify the extra work for the negligible gains between the cold-air and the short-ram.

I don't want F/I. I just wanted something a little more aggressive sounding w/o doing anything illegal (i.e. exhaust) because I am in the hiring process for Peoria Police Dept. and something tells me that rolling into the police station w/ a turbo'd tC that has exhaust on it (cuz leaving the factory exhaust would be retarded w/ a turbo setup) wouldn't look too great to the other officers and my Sergeant.

You dont need to take off the bumper to install the Injen Intake, just peel back the wheel well lining and its cake

fully aware of that....however..if you noticed I mentioned that I took the extra 10mins to remove the bumper to make things easier overall. Basically spent an extra 10mins but saved the intake from any scratches and myself from frustration of trying to feed the intake pipe through the fender hole. The bumper does not NEED to be removed..you're right. But it makes things a LOT easier.

Neither of them are CARB legal......here's INJEN's page on both intakes:
http://injen.com/docs/other/search.a...lID=141&Eng=L4

Under the column heading "EO#" they both say No CARB

hm.. weird... cuz when i got mine... i was told the Chrome was CARB legal cuz something about it was the 1st for the 07 made so they didn't want to go thru the hassle of gettin the black one CARB legal.. some BS about that they cant give it to both because they're not the same thing.. idk i'll check it out later i know it said somewhere it was CARB legal.

so i took a look at the directions. they say that not having the right parts will void the warranty and the CARB exemption. idk i think i may have read that wrong then.
