To tell you the true I wouldn't mind the ss I think its pretty cool looking, it's kinda different because not too many people have it, I'm into buying something that u don't see that often hence when I bought my tc I was the only black one around and then when I started modding I'm still pretty different but now there everyone, but that ecotec motor they have in there from what I know can hold somewhere around 500hp if not more (read it somewhere looking for link and from what I've heard) chevy messed up in the beginning with the s/c as did scion they shoulda went straight for turbo and woulda made everyones lives easier the ss can be a bada$$ car if u do it right but the ms3 is junk I know 5 people that have/had one and all 5 have either blown a motor, turbo, tranny or a combination and have now gotten rid of them, they tend to act like there ford cousins

My friend has a type-s, basically the same engine as an si keeps up with ss's and srt-4's non stock...
well this is one of the dumbest things ive ever heard. a full bolt on RSX-S with k pro even with no form of boost will not keep up with a bolt on srt-4 im sorry. my friends Rabbit for christ sakes with chip and intake kept up with a i/h/e rsx-s from a dig up to 100. even pulled it up to 50.

that's deff not true. the transmissions is strong and can handle well over 400whp. even the clutch can hold up pretty good at them levels.

just go over to www.cobaltss.net and read up

and from what im reading now the 09's are even faster then the 08's dew to large changes in the ecu

also watch out for retuned ones ... they get very fast very cheap

I'm sorry but my buddy beats srt-4s... He kept up with a 350z before... Maybe the driver of the rsx sucks but my friend only has Headers and Exhaust... everything elis is stock...

no, MrBurritoI agree U read right. I think U read it from the source; GM rates max of the F35 at 258 lb.-ft. ... sheiit even the F40 in the Pontiac is rated at 300.

IMO. Aside from many WTF designs, & spotty build quality, GM & other USA brands are ok for the abuse most ppl dish out. At onetime US autos may have been the tech&design leaders, but that was long ago before they got all piggy & senile.

lol

dude GM wouldn't be stupid enough to put in a transmission in a car that couldn't even hold stock power

here this is a dyno thread of a stage 2 ss/sc vs stock 08 ss/tc, both dynoed on the same day...
http://www.cobaltss.net/forums/showthread.php?t=118151

the 09's are putting down alot more power dew to changes in the ecu. they are now putting down more hp/tq then they are rated at the crank.. these are the ones you will see in the 13's stock
