Wohoo!! I just ordered a K&N from autopartswarehouse.com. I got silver, cause i have a SSM tC. I just couldnt bring myself to go with the Weapon R. I think for winter i'll put the stock intake back on, since michigan winter's are pretty brutal typically.

Here's what im goign to do, Im going to take videos (quicktime movies) of my car before and after the K&N install. So you'll all hear how she sounds with a stock exhaust before and after the K&N. I'll do inside ride along view as well as outside idle and flyby.

Hopefully it ships tomorrow and i'll have it on this weekend!

 

So, apparently i missed the K&N order deadline....

They are on backorder at autopartswarehouse.com, creative compacts, vividracing, etc.

Anybody know of anyplace that might have them in stock?? I currently just ordered with crutchfield because i got free shipping and i figured since crutchfield is a big distributor that they would get them sooner than smaller places.

i just ordered mine from hopup and i specificly asked if it was instock... they had them in stock and should be here between 3-5 days

WHat was it specifically you didn't like about the WR?

 

it wasnt that I "didn't like" the weapon R... I just like K&N's track record.

There really is no beating them for performance filters. Weapon R may Dyno similar, but I just love that K&N badge.

Plus the weapon R is more expensive for half the intake. PLUS, I've heard their filters aren't that great

Hopup racing did have both colors in stock... I ordered the silver.

Their online store was yahoo so that would kind of force them to 'not treat me like crap'.

I called and cancelled my backorder with crutchfield as well. SO- pending 'autopartswarehouse' doesn't decide to charge me for something that I cancelled, I should be all set.

K&N should ship out tomorrow, get to me on friday!!! :-)

I hope your still gonna do your experiment. Ill be looking forward to hearing all your differnt sound bites. Even tho, im probably going with the K&N myself... but that will help push me into getting it. Plus, i wanna know if you experience any low end torque loss...like some people have claimed. The Dyno on K&N suggests that it will increase low end torque.

Im curious myself to see how the stock exhausts sounds with the K&N... I actually like how it sounds even bare stock
