Default K&N Or Injen

I have a 07' tC with the DC SPORT headers, and the Draxas S-Pipe. Should i get the K&N or the Injen CAI? Which is easier to install and will give me the best gains.

Neither gives you noticeable gains. They are for sound and looks only for the most part. The K&N is notorious, from poor design, for breaking the bracket off the top of the motor mount, unless they have changed its mounting, so I would not buy that one.

Oh, and the install is pretty much the same for both.. 30 minutes or so.

ok, i was thinking of the Injen, but i do not want to take off my bumper to install it lol.

ALSO, since i got the DC SPORT Header, i have heard that since it doesn't have any mountings, that it can crack the welds, is that true? anything i can do to prevent that?

get the Injen and as for the install I did mine without taking the bumper off just take the wheel out and and take it easy when installing. As for the mounting bracket i havn't had a problem and I've had mine for almost a year!

I have only heard of the injen breaking brackets a couple of times, it is the K&N that is horrible about it.

And removing the bumper is un-necessary. Remove the driver side front wheel, drop the plastic inner fender down and install. It is an easy install.

INjen All the way!!! k&n Only serves american cars, us japs ( at least jap designed US cars)should stick to jap friendly brands, plus injen's pipe is bigger in design to give you better sound, feel, and power 11hp, 9tq as to K &N 's 6hp , 6tq I think, you check it out better

Neither of those gains are realistic, they are advertising bs. A larger pipe only serves you better if the car is maxing out what you already have, and the velocity is also part of the equation used when tuning.

Nothing wrong with liking a CAI for looks and sound, but you will NOT gain the power gains they feed you in the ads.

this is the way im looking at it right now, since its not noticeble gains, i should finish off my exhuast system setup then right? i just need to get custom midpipe done, and the axel-back. THEN i will get the CAI. sound good?

injen FTW. i feel a little more power, and it sounds sweet. if it ads no power then why when they did the comparison on here did it add 8hp? i felt a little more right away.

i ahve the K&N and it is very loud, the piping of the injen is thick, the k&n is not, my bracket did break, but its fixable and managable. change the filter out of the K&N as the oiled filter has no were near as good airflow as a regular air filter. then the k&n wil provide just as well as the injen does.

injen.. and id suggest taking off the bumper, its really not that difficult.. and it does help, just do before and after dyno, its a slight gain but a gain none the less... and if u can get rid of the header do it.. then get the alphawerks, it comes with the holes to mount it to the block...

people picked the dyno results apart. For one, right after install, the car was running lean, so of course there was a bit more power. After running it a bit everything is back to where it should be and the gains are negligible.

I have K&N and I had no installation problem, except it rubs on the chasis, but i think injen does too. Other than that, it has a massive suction sound, I've seen cars have injen and I don't think theirs is as loud, it definitely is just lame to buy it for the sound, but it does sound vicious. Also, some people can't stand that whistling everyday, so watch out for that too...Personally, I love it! GOod Luck.

imma just get the Injen, but i cannot decide if i want to get the DCSport header or not. if i can find a alphawerks for the same price i would rather get that because im scared that the weld is going to crack

The only thing I hate about header's themselves are the check engine light that comes on randomly. When I drive long distances the light decides to come on, but if I drive locally...I never have a problem, hopefully I'll figure it out during spring break.

Injen is the best, and those dynos aren't false because people with the Injen themselves have dynoed and it and it's about the same results... plus, why would Scionlife want to test parts and lie about results?
