Default K&N intake

Hey I got my tC a little while back and while looking for some good upgrades I came across this site. So umm hello everyone.

Anyways to the point of the topic. I was considering installing the K&N Typhoon™ Air Intake System, basically because its the only one that passes emission inspections. The only problem is that I can only order one for an 07 and guess what, I have an 08. I realize that in most cases this would be a problem but since the MAF sensor did not change between the 07 and 08 I shouldnt have a problem right?

Hoping to get some good feedback because I really want to install a new intake, the stock one sucks.

Oh and when I searched the only thing I found was a guy who tried to instal an 06 intake on his 07. Everyone there said it was his MAF snesor. I am not 100% on the MAF snesor being the same on 07 and 08 tc's either so an help on this subject would be great.

I hope your right because I hate putting stuff in my car only to find out that there is some b/s error and I have to retun it.

the MAF change was between '06 and below... to '07 and above.

your '08 is the same as the '07.

^^^well according to the K&N website it gives an 8hp gain and well from all the videos and posts I've seen it makes the car sound a hell of a lot nicer. I already have the TRD exhaust and from what I've seen/heard it needs to be paired with a nice new intake to sound really good.

well... you are paying more for the sound than power..

but ya.. it does increase it only slightly.

Ok so now I cant decide. I either want the K&N or the Injen.

The K&N is only $247 here
http://www.autoanything.com/air-inta...0A3009512.aspx

But the Injen on only $285 here:
http://trdsparks.com/displayparts.ph...&parts_id=1312

I live in New York so I dont really have to worry about CARB exeption but I do have to woory about rain. So I will bo going SR and not the full CAI,(I know I shouldnt worry about hydrolock but I am way to **** about my car). That being said I am leaning more towards the K&N just because there is a heat sheild(not that its helps a lot but it cant hurt). Both companies produce hight quality stuff so I dont know what to pick. Injen does have a great record by users on this site so I know a lot of you are going to tell me to go with that. My question is, is anyone running the K&N or am I the only one even looking at it, and for anyone who might want to speak up which do you feel would be better overall?
