Default K&N Intake question

I might be late on this, but i was wondering if anyone has tried taking off the long part of the intake and just sticking back on the filter....basically making a short ram....is this possible?

Is there any reason you'd want to? Generally you'll get better performance from the CAI over the SR.

i thought the K&N was made like the injen, in that it could be a SRI or CAI?

well anyway. if went through all the hassle of getting the full cai pipe on, I would leave it as a CAI.

^^ Nope... not made that way. I think the break in the piping is at a different location than the Injen.

I think it can be done with a smaller air filter (which might be hard to find)

However, as other people mentioned, why would you want to? The K&N filter comes with a water jacket so you don't have to be worried about small-medium sized puddles.. just the giant ones.

Default cai

If you read the ads closely you'll notice it says "up to" said horsepower. usually it will say in disclaimer somewhere about how individual results may vary! so who knows for sure how much any aftermarket for real?!
