Default K&N Intake questions

I installed my K&N intake and had to use the extra pipe to extend the piece and put the filter in the wheel well. That extended piece is not rubbing but has the ability to slam into the cutout (meaning, the second pipe that attaches the filter has to be fit trough that side hole. The hole is the part I am talking about. I would like to put something either on the edge of the hole so if the pipe does slam into it there will be something to brace the impact. Does anybody have any solution to this? What has other people done about this?

Dude,

The black rubber vacumn tube that you get for your new K&N intake is way too long. At least it was in my instance. I just cut a small 2" piece, (looks like a rubber piece of ziti). Then I slit open one side of the 2" rubber piece and put it right underneath the 2nd pipe, where the opening to the wheel well was (kinda wrapping the rubber piece around that corner). Make sure you have your 2nd pipe angeled correctly!!! The rubbing and knocking noises when going over bumps should go away.

ENJOY !!!!

OR,

loosen the mounts for the Z bracket on the main pipe, and rotate it towards you.

That lifted mine up about a quarter inch and it sits perfectly.

No knocking or vibrating since

what did you use to cut the pipe? I might have to do that but I do not want to mess it up.

I used a pair of those heavy duty scissors like carpenters use and then used the extra piece to put it between the pipe and the sidewall hole where the second pipe goes into i just used a knife for that hope that helps

two things i can telll you to help you out #1 start by replacing the lower fusr bolt the one nearest to the headlight by using the stock intake screws that hold it down that will give you enough threading to make it easier and #2 start with putting on the lower pipe first align that one after you put on the first pipe is a B*****
