How much is a fair price for an LSD install? I already have the tranny out of the car and seprate from the engine.

Amcco quoted me almost $600 plus tax which I thought was rediculous.

 

I got mine done from a Toyota tech for 400 but I'm located in weschester

 

I spent $400 after dropping the trans myself and bringing it to a local transmission shop.

Edit: The people at the shop I took it to had no clue what they were doing. They actually managed to break a gasket from the install kit and made me order a replacement. So $600 all together from an experienced shop is realistic. Definitely do not try to do it yourself. That transmission is a pandora's box.

 

Or you can do what I did, and spend 7 grand on a fully built trans. lol

 

yes I DEFF wont do my own transmission. I can do alot of work myself (turbo, exhaust, some fabrication) but I know my limits lol.

 

a FWD LSD is pretty simple install really, you just have to take your time and be careful. but 4-800 is about the normal a shop charges for it
