Default Magnaflow Exhaust and Rasp

ive been doing a lot of looking around through everyones posts about the rasp they get after they install a header and it seems that some brands of exhausts have a lot of rasp and some dont. I have the magnaflow exhaust and am about to get a header and s-pipe and was wondering if anyone already has this set-up or has heard a similar setup without resonators.

header + no resonator = rasp
header + high-flow cat = no rasp

trust me......resonators dont work......high-flow cats are best

If you keep the stock resonator and add an additional one (if it fits without cat removal) then you will clear the rasp. My setup was header - no cat - resonator - stock resonator - GReddy SP2. Sounded great! Check my myspace page for a video.

so your saying all i need to do is get a 12" resonator and itll be good? And when i installed my exhaust im pretty sure i cut out the stock resonator, correct me if im wrong it was a long time ago. Can i still use the stock resonator on the new set-up if i did cut it out because im pretty sure the diameter of the pipe is different?

Do yall know the price difference between a high flow cat and a 12" resonator and which would be better

Thanks for the help...

yes that what i did and it made a WORLD of a difference i enjoy it now .. and yes a 12 inch resonator will fit in front of the stock one any bigger and it wont fit.... just go to a local muffler shop and ask for one they shoudlhave it in stock...and i think my resonator cost me liek 60 bucks or something......

I feel your pain. I have a full Magnaflow system. S pipe and all. I also have DC Sport header. The Magnaflow alone sounded great but after the header it was raspy starting at 2500rpm. I just bought a Magnaflow resonator (#10425) and should have it on in a week or two. I will get back to ya once it is done.
