Default manual trans noise

So this morning as I was racing to work I got onto the on ramp and when I hit about 80mph I noticed a loud vibration sound as I slowed down the noise did as well. So I stopped and checked for a flat tire, because that's what it felt like, and everything was cool. The noise is very simular to the sound you get if you start to drift of the highway and you hit the groved cuts that are put there to wake you up. So when I got to work I lifted the car on the lift and checked the tires out and they look ok. Then I put it into gear and put my stethescope to the trans housing and you can hear alot more noise than I think is normal. While driving at 60mph it sounds almost like alot of wind and it doesn't matter if your in gear or neutral. Thank god its still under warranty, looks like I get a new trans at 40,000.

First step, does it occur only when you have clutch in, or only have clutch out, or does it happen no matter what position the clutch is in?

fixed it, It was the windshield moulding on the top. I noticed that it really only made noise at 80mph. So I took it on the highway and noticed that the noise was coming from the roof, I could fill it with my hand, and not the fire wall at my feet. Got out of the car and saw the moulding had popped up! so now the question is how do I get it to stay? I pounded it back in and we'll see what happens. I must have been really tired and not paying attention as to were the noise was coming from. I was surprised at how much noise comes out of the gearbox with my stethescope on it, must be normal.
