Default Mass Air Flow Sensor

Well first i would like to say hello, not my first time on here but first time as a poster. Last week i was talking to some guys at a local car meet about the motor and all the electronics on the Tc and ive even talked to a couple of the techs at a toyota dealership and all have said that everything is the same from 05 to 2010. I have a 2010 tc and i ordered an intake that was for the 05-06 years. got it in the mail and everything went to check to see if the MAF would fit and its to small for the hole. its like a 1/8th to 1/4 of an inch around in some ares where its to big. So my question is whats the best thing to do? Should i get one of my friends 05 MAF and see if it fits and order one for $50 bucks? or make a plate with a smaller hole in it and fill the gap from the MAF sensor hole to the plate with some of the rubber sealent stuff? Please let me know what yall think i should do. Thanks

Return the intake and get the one for your model year

thats the thing though. i cant find one for a 2010 model. i have been able to find some that say 07+ such as the fujita CAI and the TRD one. What i need to know is about the MAF sensor and if they are different sizes depending on the year. Thats the reason for this thread because i dont want to buy an intake that says 07+ like the fujita one and have it be the same problem

You need an 07+....05-06 are different, 07+ are all the same.

Yes it does.
You should have bought a better intake though.

It doesn't really matter, I just think you could have gotten a used Injen or Fujita intake that'll fit your year for a little more than what you paid.

Your noise maker will do it's job no matter what brand is on the side. Happy modding!

lol honestly i made that mistake and it may sound retarded but i got my older model intake to fit by wrapping plastic around the edge of the maf hole and zip-tying the maf sensor sideways to my intake. It looked horrendous but it lasted for 10k mi w/ no cel or anything! i just had to get rid of it because it rattled against the fender hole too much hahaa such a bad idea..

i dunno who you talked to.. but them saying the 2005-2010 tCs are the same.. are complete and utter morons..
the only two model years alike in everything... are the 2009 and the 2010
(though the change the 2009 made coming from the 2008 was stupid and minor... (seat color.. ooh.. wow...))

engine wise... general rule here is anything that fits an '07.. will fit in the newer following year models.
some '05-'06 parts fit.. but obviously you found one that doesn't... pretty much the MAF thing there..

you should've done a little bit more research... though it seems you did try... but ended up asking a bunch of morons.. i'll give you props for asking the right questions... you just sadly asked the wrong people.

good to hear you were able to return the intake

You could always get an intake pipe reducer, http://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/VIB2180Y.htm, I'm not sure of the sizes you would need, and as long as it is like my intake, with a mounting tab, and you can mount it, you should be fine.

My bad, I was thinking he said it wouldn't fit the throttle body, I guess that's what I get for not reading thoroughly.
