Megan header, new design
i have the one without a pre-cat installed with the anti-fouler's and no CEL. I actually had the one with a cat on for about 3,000-4,000 miles with no CEL at all (still with the anti-foulers)..
the car feels much faster in the high RPMs.. I raced a stock tC 5-speed the other day and beat it by about 3-4 car lengths.. everytime I got past 5,000 RPMs I started pulling.. only mods are CAI with grill vent cut out, megan header (no cat), no spare or jack and TWM SS.. the car feels very fast, i'm pretty sure I could hit a very low 15 in the 1/4 now.. I hit a 15.3 in brandenton with the pre-cat header last time I went with a 2.2 60'.. that was also with a little more then 1/2 a tank of gas.
i still have the stock exhaust.. it really doesnt sound much different until around 4-5,000rpms then it's louder.. you definately can't hear it over the K&N CAI, you might notice it more if you don't have an intake.

for someone who wants a sound clip, this is when I had the megan header with the cat and K&N, it pretty much sounds the same:

(you need quicktime for them)
this one you don't need quicktime, it's me racing a stock sentra SE-R Spec-v 6speed, you can hear my car pretty good until I hit the rev limiter on the end of the last run.

the diameter of the pipe on megan header (and AW) is larger then DC's. DC's piping is the same as stock headers but with no cat... megan and aw are pretty much the same since they are 4-1's, i bet the new megan performs the same as AW and DC now.
if you look at the last pic posted in this thread, the one on the right has a pre-cat, the one on the left does not (it's just a straight pipe).. that's the only difference.
if you get the header with the pre-cat, would u need an antifouler to not get a cell? or would the precat make sure you dont get a cel?
if you do get a cel with the version with the cat... id get the non-cat version... someone please help me... lol
also, would i pass emmisons with the one with the cat? (i live in maryland if that helps)

I finally got mine installed today as well and I totally love it, my mods are Weapor engine damper, Injen cold air intake, TRD lowering springs and of course Megan Header. I can totally feel the gains, next is my s-pipe and exhaust.

I installed the new header this weekend. Available for about 200.00 dollars. Perfect fit. It pulls harder 3700-6200 RPM. More responsive over all. Looks killer. Sounds good with stock exhaust. The sound does change you can hear the exhaust blasting out of the muffler. Needed to widen the donut a little to fit on the header. Header does not have studs near the bottom so you will need to get 2 bolts like the type used to hold the header to the brackets at the bottom.. I used just 1 bracket for now. I recommend this header above all if you don't have money to burn. Megan headers have been blowing away many more expensive headers for a long time.
