Megan Headers + Megan Exhaust = No Cat?
Ok, so, I just want to check on this before I buy... I was looking at getting the Megan Headers, Megan S-Pipe, and the new, OEM style Megan V3 catback exhaust... however, I noticed that the Megan Headers don't have a cat and obviously by switching out all the exhaust piping I lose the second cat... or atleast I think I do...
Anyway, I just want to see if the setup I want really means not having a cat? And I mean... that's bad... ... or illegal... or something... right?

well, if you get the headers you will lose your primary cat...
the s-pipe does nothing to emissions, it doesnt have any parts on it, except for the o2 sensor, but replacing the s-pipe does no harm to it.
and if you get the megan v3 exhaust you will lose your secondary cat.. which means you will have no cats, your car will be illegal, and will smell like s h i t
but you can opt for the axle back only... they are selling the exhaust as a two piece system.. i suggest you go with only the axle back because you are N/A, and when you go F/I if you ever do than you can upgrade

Well, I originally wanted it more to see if I could get a discounted buy somewhere by doing a full Megan system... never really occured to me about the cat... plus the Megan Headers were about $70 or so cheaper than the DC Sports and AW headers... and I kinda thought it'd be neat to have an exhaust theme going on... but seeing as I'm switching exhausts (that CC one looks good... $414 for a full headerback kit ain't bad) maybe it'd be worth it to spend the extra $70 or so and get the power gain from AW.
Or not, Idunno... I won't have the cash for a month or so anyway, so I've got plenty of time to think.

There is no V3 of the MEGAN exhaust...
Drift Spec has 2 versions, their original design and their current one that fits V2..
They have a completely different style called OE Style, which would be in a league of its own.

its kinda stupid i think if you even bother to replace the stock exhaust with aftermarket + cat because when you do, its still illegal to tamper/remove/etc the cat .
when people get pulled over for exhaust, the cop wouldnt save you a ticket just because you said it has a cat. most likely your going to end up with the state referee.
random rant =)

By "V3" I meant the OE style one... my bad.
I was more putting the cat in to deal with rasp (because the cat does help I'm told) and to help deal with the smell (something I've also been told?).
Illegality is not really an issue... Alabama is pretty lax when it comes to these things.

oem style = V3....
there is V1.. first one that came out with tremendous tilt
V2.. the second one that came out with bumper burning problems, and a N1 style muffler
V3.. hasnt hit stores, but its OEM style with a titianum tip

Drift Spec has 2 Versions..
OE Style Is just coming out..only version for that right now is their 'Prototype'
Megan doesnt label their exhausts by version #'s anyway..lol
