I just installed my Megan Racing Exhaust from the headers back, it looks awesome and sounds HORRIBLE. I was wondering if anyone on here has any clue as of to why there would be a "zinging" type of sound to it, (loud annoying vibrations)
.... I checked everysingle bolt, I made sure there was no exhaust leak, and there is no hole in any of the pipes. Any Ideas?

oh, the noise is coming from either the mid-pipe or the muffler, definitely not the downpipe or headers.

now, i'm not sure what i didn't cover in that besides defected exhaust pipes.

 

lol its the header.... you need to add resonators at a local muffler shop keep adding till the rasp is gone good luck !

A Magnaflow High Flow Cat will help reduce the rasp as well.

 

how could i fit a resonator anywhere, and how could i hook up a high flow cat-converter to the megan headers?
(this is my first time installing an exhaust haha)

everything will go on the mid pipe the one from the spipe tot he axleback..... they will cut and weld it in .... id geta high flow cat and a 20-30 inch resonator... srry but its your only option if you wana drive the he street with out people laughing at you...

 

im pretty sure that there is already two resonators on the exhaust pipe

ive heard it personally with out a header or s-pipe and if it has a resonator its very small or it doesnt do very much. that exhaust is loud from the beggining

 

today i got the high flow cat and there was no difference. yeah i feel like i wasted my money, but I called Megan and im going to get store credit for 200 dollars from the axle-back and i'm going down to my scion parts dealer and picking up the trd axle-back and hopefully the rasp will be gone.

 

you should still have rasp with that header even with a different axleback, but you may be lucky

 

i think you just amde it worse. have you haerd the trd axle back with stock mid and headers..

my exhaust all together costed $2,000.00. Today i took it to Scion and i got the axle-back from them and now my car is super loud with no bad sounding rasp.

nah megan charged me decently, i payed 900 all together for the headers, downpipe, and catback. But then i had to buy a high flow catalytic converter 295. And today scion charged me 700 for the trd axleback. so it was a little under 2k. But yeah, im over it.... next mod..... lowering.

 

why didn't you just buy the TRD axleback online for $365? that's the price at both TRDsparks and Mcgeorge...and $900 for headerse spipe and catback? total should be more like $600. did you buy straight from the megan site? it's actually cheaper to buy from sponsors on this site and other websites, just a FYI.

 

yeah i was getting so frustrated with everything because i had all megan orginally for 900 but then the sound that the stupid megan muffler made was horrible, so i just wanted it off asap. thanks though. Oh and yeah i got it through megan directly .... Where do you order for parts? I'm planning on getting a crank pulley and lowering springs soon.
