fyi, theres been R&D done (by DC sports) that showed no additional gains by replacing the stock midpipe.....hence why their exhaust system is axleback.

hmmm...so this thread seems to affirm my comments about aftermarket exhaust parts not being properly R&D'd for the tc, resulting in performance losses.... and to think how much i was flamed... :D :D :D :D

a R&D done by DC sports? uhmmm doesnt that sound fishy? First of all i love weapon-r but their dyno claimed 26 hp. Im pretty sure DC is bs'ing. How can removing the cat, do nothing? And Pete, You gotta love the MMW header looks super sexy. plus i dont really notice a low end loss. seems like a gain to me. The performance increase was niceee. And my tc sounds super sexy actually. No Rasp at all thanks to the tanabe medallion touring, that no1 buys. Guess it paid off to save money on that axleback. Oh and pete if u are still havnt gotten a new midpipe yet. Im on the Tsudo midpipe. the site told me its a 2.5" i have the 2nd version and it has an 18 inch resonator. You might want to check that out if its cheaper then getting a midpipe custom.

little off topic, but could i get a confirmation that the mmw header/s-pipe is a 2.5" piping? one of the previous posts said 2.25 and i'm starting to get a little worried i was mistaken this whole time.

i have mmw/spipe with megan drift spec exhaust with a 30 in res...didnt feel any loss in torque.... now in a racing perspective IMO losing low end torque doesnt really make a difference since everytime u shift u land in mid range 4k so thats just me...

i just got a megan midpipe with axleback and the car jerks a tiny bit when i shift below 3k, but definitley feel the car pull much smoother on the highway when cruisin!

you're sh!ttin me. the tC is very fast compared to the other models in it's price range. and you can bring up the mini S or the RSX-S.T.--but that's still with mods to the engine and neither is in the tC range price wise. wtf do want a m3 quickness for 18k. people like you are dumb@sses w/o a real life. go suck one.

lol...."fast compared to other cars in price range (Si, Spec V, RSX-S, Mazdaspeed3, GTi, MX-5, Mustang....and those are just NEW cars. theres a TON of used/pre-owned cars in the "tc price range" that are WAY WAY WAY faster) does not = "fast"

so, your definition of "in the tc's price range" means any car that costs less than the tc then, right?

no, for 18K i expect Celica gts quickness....which is basically what the tc is. that still does not make it FAST.

maybe, "fast for a beginner/student car". high 15 second 1/4 mile is NOT fast. I never said i don't enjoy and appreciate the tc's engine. imo, its the best feature of the car (which still isn't saying much)....but i refuse to let noobs downgrade to the level of calling the tc "fast"..

its funny because, there are many other cars out there that are commonly referred to as "slow", which are just as fast or slightly less than tc's.

your just all too in love with your own cars....u have lost the abilitiy to be neutral and unbiased.

The tc in stock trim has nice low end tq to pull you off the line. it falls on its face on the top end, ie. after 3rd.

A Barbie Power Wheels truck is "fast for its price range" too........

Wait Septc? Dint i already prove how dumb you are with my previous post. Also SI? arent those things like 20 gran base? You cant even get RSX-S new anymore, so you gotta settle for something used, and even if its gon be like 21k plus just to get a decent one. IF anything a 3 gran difference, could go a long wayy for the tc. PLUS i think the SI is F*in ugly. The front is like a munchkin. IF all you want is numbers, then yur kinda not looking at the whole margin. The Tc Looks best in its class IMO. And if u dint know ,that means cars under 25 gran.

no, sorry kid. you didn't. :D

new cars under 25K [a lot] faster than the tc: gti, Si, mazdaspeed3...

if u are talking about a fast car for under 25K, who cares if its used? I'd rather have a fast 2002 or 2003 than a slow 2007 tc......

you can make up as many excuses and justifications as you want, the tc is NOT fast (stock). Its cheap and it looks better than a civic. thats why its popular.
