I want a muffler that I can splice in place of the stock muffler that provides a deep, throaty sound. Since catbacks don't provide much additional HP, is there just a muffler replacement that provides some sound at a resonable price ?

 

Magnaflow mufflers sound nice, you just have to have a muffler shop weld one up and put a nice polish tip on.

 

why wouldn't you just get an axle-back, like the trd or HKS Hi-Power?

 

The TRD and HKS are more than I want to spend. If I won't gain performance, why spend the money ?

 

you can score a magnaflow muffler on ebay for 65$ shipped and get a stainless tip for like 20 or 30$ and a shop will probably do the job for 75 or 100.
So your gonna look at about 150 to 175, try checking the classifids or ebay for a exhaust, you might get lucky.
