Since when is the tC a v6? A tC would have a header, but anyways a Header or a Exhaust Manifold are the same thing if you really want to get into it. Let me say ive ran my car with the STOCK header opened and it didn't sound good to me at all... Better As for what is has to do with it. if he is going to run straight pipe with no res or nothing its going to sound pretty much the same as open header being there is nothing but a few feet or pipe to muffle the sound.

BTW, I have a turbo manifold

what is the v6 comment for?

well, a header is different, allows for better flow... so it can easily be louder..

still not sure by what you say... open headers means no piping right as far as i know.. he's asking if he just straight pipes the muffler, not the whole exhause.. so instead of an axleback like magnaflow or trd, he just puts a piece of pipe in there... so it is basicly stock till the axle.. u think that above link for the exhaust clip is crap?

That car is running a glass pack not a straight pipe. It sounds decent at low RPMs I bet that baby screams at higher revs.

i didnt think it was loud.. when i put on my custom crap setup, i hit WOT and it wasnt all that loud.. since everytthing is still stock... full exhaust is totaly different, i understand that.. but he's just modding from the axle back.. not whole thing... mine isnt loud at all.. can barley tell that i have a basicly through muffler on there...

Actually guys, there's a Dyno here in SL that shows a gain 4.5 whp. Only think of this, do you know how much whp a TRD Axleback give?....... 3 little miserable whp. So $325+ for 3whp or $0 for 4.5 and a LOT of SOUND? I prefer to have a good exhaust system, less hassle.

gabe at precision muffler did mine. he just made a "down turn" right where the axle back goes... it sounds pretty sick, and i've had it on for almost 2 years with no complaints from the cops...

I have been running with no muffler for months. I had some pipe added in place and left the stock tip. You honestly could not tell by looking that it wasn't stock. Not sure how it would sound on a N/A setup but with the supercharger it definately makes boost more noticable audibly. I plan to do a full custom exhaust when I have the money but until then this gives me some more sound.
