Default Are my brake pads worn?

Heard new noises from my brakes but not sure if it's the cold or if pads need changing.

Thanks!

What did the old noises sound like?

Can't really tell from the pic. The pad appears irregularly warn but so severely that the pic angle may be deceptive.

Average driving conditions might see 60K miles between front pad changes. Highway drivers probably get more than 60k. Rickard Petty might get 30k.

Rear pads (of the same material) typically last 2 to 3 times longer than front pads.

As for the "new noise", does it sound like shuddering or metal-to-metal (like fingernails on a chalkboard?)

Totota says the minimum pad thickness is 1mm. Anything less, it's definitely time. Anything more and it's up to the driver.

Yes you'll need new ones. I'd suggest ceramic pads . If you are doing it yourself ensure you lube the two unpainted metal parts that hold both sides of the calipers together this will ensure the calipers don't sick and cause uneven ware and tare on your brake system. Honestly when it comes to brakes if you even THINK you'll need new ones you might as well get them, it is what makes your car stop. Also you should get your routers checked pending on how many times you've changed your brake pads. you can find this info very easily on google or a legit mechanic.
