I originally got the idea from tCeeder on here. Ive always wanted an intake but never really cared for one enough to buy it. I wasnt much into power mods anyways, just like it nice and clean. I decided to get one when i saw the oppertunity on some great deals that i couldnt pass up. I bought the Injen CAI on here from another member for dirt cheap. the pipes had some scratches and whatnot but the pipe that goes into the fender making it a CAI was the worst but didnt care because i didnt need it, it also needed a new filter in which i was about to purchase. I also saw the HKS cage with 3 filters being sold on here by a member and i got a killer deal. Almost unheard of with those things being so expensive.

I got the items probablly a 1.5 months ago but never got around to doing anything with it untill this week. I wanted to paint the pipe with a low gloss black. I started by sanding the pipe using 320 grit to remove the paint, then 600, then 1000 to smooth it out for painting. I painted it using high heat low gloss black paint with 2 coats. I was going to purchase the red HKS filter but those are hard to come by in the size i needed. so i stuck with one of the colors it came with, i also have a purple and green filter.

I had free time today so i decided to install it. Took only 45 mins being its my first power/engine mod ive ever done EVER! It looks and SOUNDS awsome! I havent driven around with it yet. Enough talk, here's a couple of pics i have.

Hey how did the sound change if any with it,I am thinking of doing the same with my Weapon R and I got my hands on a HKS cage and filter for dirt cheap but have not got it on yet.

Did it get louder on the intake side or stay about the same.

the engine got louder, you can hear it sucking in air. my exhaust got louder aswell. sound nice and deeper than before with it being stock. still havent driven with it yet but from the revs it sounds really really good.

yea it is touching the fuse box slightly. puddlestc, are you looking for the cage, filter or both because they're 2 seperate things. eBay has a good amount.

right now i'm looking for intake piping but even ebay is expensive for it lol....for 08 that is. $80-$140 for intakes for my year tc lol. i just want the sri pipe!!!haha

as for the hks thing......is it the cage that fits onto the pipe? i'm probably going to need both pieces since i wont have a filter lol.

i bought mine used and beat up from an old prelude.

 

I have the Injen CAI but worry about it sucking up any water. Would the HKS cage be a good choice to keep water out? Also, do I just need to buy the cage and the filter, since I have the piping?
