NEED MORE POWER.....
Well I made my mind.... I'm saving up for a turbo... I got convince... Thax for the info. Everybody!.........but I want to know if anybody in this forum got an auto tc.turbo'd. Can u tell me wats the pros n the cons...I would appreciate that..... Well thax ya'll!....lol
TJ,
Yes there have been people on here that have an Auto with a turbo. Here's what I would do:
If you're serious about turbo:
Contact Paul at Dezod Motorsports. Get his S1 turbo kit, but opt for a smaller turbo. I would recommend a 46trim T04E/T3 with a .48 A/R hotside. I would also ask him to include only a 5psi spring for the wastegate, instead of the typical 8.5psi. This should get you to just about 200-210whp... then you need to add a 2.5" exhaust. All of this will run you about $4,500 - and that's not including labor.
If you're not wanting to spend that much:
I would seriously consider getting a nitrous kit with a wet shot setup. As people have mentioned here, 50-75shot is safe. Make sure someone reputable is installing it. Have a purge valve installed and always purge a small bit before spraying. I've never been a nitrous person myself, but it's the best bang for the buck. You already have all the money you need for nitrous.

Dont waste your money on I/H/E if you want power.
Dont waste your money on Nitrous if you want power.
Waste your money on a turbo system.
In my supporting manner i would recommend Ptuning, Dezod, TT.
Since i read your an auto, i'd say get the Dezod kit. Since ptuning doesnt have an auto kit yet.

Yeah completely neglecting the fact that someone with nitrous will spank your turbo every time if it runs anything less than 230 whp but to each his/her own.
The downside to nitrous is that it isn't always available, after you race that guy with nitrous for 10 runs you'll probably end up winning once. So yeah, definitely don't get nitrous if you want power

I am saving to Turbo my tC, but I work on and drive an Auto Turbo GSX almost daily. You don't have as much control over the power band, but again.. it all depends on why you wanna' go fast. Straight line, auto.. Track, 5 speed. At least that's my opinion. You're going to have to put money into the Transmission if you plan on hitting anything above 250whp, and unless you live in Jersey, you're going to be out of a car for a week or so because you have to ship them parts of the trans.

The most you can do on the tC would prob be between a 50-75 shot. meaning 50-75 hp on top of his 135-140.so hes looking at between 185-215 at the wheels with between a 50-75 shot. Now if your telling me that a 215whp tc on nitrous will beat a 240whp tc with a quick spooling turbo in it that reaches full boost between 2500 and 3500 and holds a consistent boost level through the gears. It just doesnt sound right. Roll or drag, you can eliminate boost lag with brake boosting or a two step.
I am more biased towards boost then nitrous and you are more biased towards nitrous then boost. Its all about his personal goals though. I just do not see ur rationalization on why nitrous is so much better then going turbo. Its almost like since you have juice your blinded to boost. I just dont understand it.
Though nitrous is less money initially, add up 30 bucks a week to fill ur tank and ur looking at $1440 a year just to fill the tank. Wouldnt you rather have the power at all times rather just when you hit the button?
I didn't ask for your rhetoric but since you wanted to provide it I will share my perspective.
I am not more biased towards turbo, super or nitrous. The OP stated he wanted to go fast given his budget of $800, with that being said nitrous is the route for him to take.
He also stated that he had an auto tranny; which is practically pointless to go turbo. You spend $3500+ for 230whp. Even at the cost to fill a bottle every week, which most will not do, over the course of a year for 3 or 4 years, the span most will keep the vehicle still comes out to be more beneficial than turbo on an auto.
Not to mention the amount of money you spend on the installation of the turbo and the amount spend on maintenance of the turbo and its various components will long exhaust the amount that you will spend on the nitrous system.
I am not partial to nitrous; I like turbo's but I didn't go that route because I dislike being followed by the police as they seem to do when they hear a BOV around here. I also keep the same reliable fuel economy without the need of another ECU or tune. However, just the learning process of dealing with a turbo is beneficial, one can learn so much by doing the work himself or with a friend or two.
Also, it seems you have your facts wrong. The nitrous shot depends heavily on the kit and install to achieve the most performance as it does with a turbo. tC's are fully capable of running a 100 shot, I simply run the 75. An auto tC was pushing 230whp in southern florida on a 75 shot with a ny-trex kit, stock with no bolt ons. I think your math is a little skewed or your understanding of 'shot' is. A 75 shot does not yield 75hp and it is heavily dependent on the jets to align the nitrous and fuel. Usually a 75 shot, dependent on the install and kit used, will generate more hp than the supposed shot. A 75 shot can yield about 85whp.
Also, in on an auto you don't have to worry about down time between shifts as there is very little to none. There is not enough time between shifts for the car to run lean. An auto tC on a 75 shot of nitrous ran a 14.5 in the 1/4, to put that in perspective a 2009 3.6L Nissan Maxima runs a 14.5 in the 1/4. That car produces 290 hp and part of that is lost to the transmission and drive train of course.
Like you said, I can see you're biased but i'm not. Put a auto tC turbo'd up against a auto tranny with nitrous and it will be close but given the fact the turbo has to spin up i'll put my money on the nitrous one. Put a turbo'd stick up against a nitrous stick and i'll take the turbo unless it is running a conservative tune in which case i'll take the nitrous.
Finally, you don't "hit a button".

Now hopefully this will end this little debate. I never stated which is superior in any way, I simply took into account what the OP said he was working with and since he said he wanted to go turbo so I said to each his/her own and hopefully it all pans out well.

Hate to break it to you, but a new Maxima weighs 800lbs MORE than the tC and they only put down around 250-260. So since the rule of thumb is 17lbs = 1 hp, that puts the Maxima at about 205-215 when compared to the weight of the tC.
