I am trying to get the cage out for easier access. I am all but there. How do you get these 2 cables off of the cage base? I've tried prying, but I dont want to hurt anything. Do I just pry harder?

 

I tried the same thing when I put mine in. I found there was enough play in them to allow me to get it where I needed it. You shouldn't have to remove the whole assembly to install it.

 

You're right, but if I want to so that I can bring it to my workbench, any idea how I can?

Doctor Isotopes. I know its not necessary, but lets just say I were installing the TRD where I have to remove the entire base to put in a whole new one.

 

I PMed the Doc. As per his instructions:

"
the black collars twist counter-clockwise. You need to twist them about 270ş to remove. Then just lift up on the cables, while the collars are twisted. "

He is a genious. I didn't know to rotate them that far. They come right out though.
