Default trd springs install question

hey guys,

havent been on the forum for a while. please forgive me.. i am in a rush and cant do a quick search. quick questions...

for those who installed trd lowering springs on stock struts, did you have to cut the yellow/orange rubber thing? during the installation? i installed my set without cutting. is that correct?

thanks!

Either, or. Some people cut, some don't. Mine are cut.

Some guys got it cut, some don't.

general rule is cut it the proportional length you are shortening your shock travel. It is to prevent the shock end from slamming into the shock wall. On stocks I wouldn't cut it, but I have the TRD shock, spring and rear bar set so I cut it one notch. I wouldn't worry about taking your car apart for another few hours just to cut it.

I WOULD suggest cutting it when your stock shocks blow and need replacement with hopefully upgraded aftermarket shocks, again cut it proportionally to how much less shock rod travel you would have.

Hope that helps.
