Default Need thoughts on a new exhaust installed.

Hello scion TC owners.

I recently got an 06 TC FM a few weeks ago and am loving it so far. I got Tsudo axleback exhaust for free, slapped it on and the performance was not so great.
With the stock exhaust it had a punch to it, now with this Tsudo it feels like there is no low end, or top end. The throttle response is like my old 95 honda civic.

Basically, new exhaust=bad performance; old exhaust=way better performance
any ideas why this would happen?

(and yes i know, before i get bashed i shouldn't have went with the TSUDO)

Unless theres a tennis ball jammed in your exhaust pipe, I doubt you lost any horsepower.

You're probably just noticing that you hear more noise to get the same acceleration. I feel the same about my injen intake lately...

I'm pretty sure it's not the noise. For instance, when I was on the freeway (stock exhaust) and i gave it some gas it would fly off and have a zippy feel. Now (tsudo) even with the pedal all the way down it feels like there is a huge lag, and my rpm bogs.

adding the axleback to your car will only give you 4whp in the hgh end so you won't feel any gain at all. I feel a pretty good gain in my car and I have a cat back exhaust, header, Injen CAI, and crank pulley. If you what to feel your car better get a injen CAI header catback exhaust crank pulley and intake manifold an get it tuned.

You said you installed an axleback, there's no noticeable gains with it, just sound. Get a midpipe and try again with the Tsudo, even then it's nothing drastic, but there'll be a difference.

I see. Thanks for the input. Well the only mod I have is a K&N drop in filter. It's just strange how the acceleration feels worse. I'm thinking of putting the stock exhaust back until I start a good i/h/e setup. I'm gonna do a test between a stock scion tc(friend has one) and mine. I'll get back to you guys and let you know how that goes (i know my mind isn't tripping out because of the sound..haha).
