Default New Spec-D Exhaust & Intake Questions

Hello everyone, I have a few questions for all!

#1: I'm looking into purshasing a Spec-D catback for my 2007 Scion tC. I'm not looking for anything too over the top and I've done my homework on exhaust systems, but I just need something to help counter the CAI I have. What are your suggestions on exhaust systems? I might eventually get some new headers but we'll see how it plays out.

#2: I got a new CAI back in December and from time-to-time I'll get a CEL. I had it checked out and its for the MAF detecting too much air and not releasing enough out the stock exhaust. Is there any way to get a new MAF or will getting the exhaust help out my problem?

Thanks in advance for all the help

With the cold air intakes its a hit or miss on your check engine light. Sometimes it will and sometimes it won't, i have a fujita cai and ive yet to have a cel. Exhaust wont help w/ your maf causing your cel cuz the exhuast is past on the other side of your motor (oppisite side of your maf). I have a spec d cat back and mine hands down at an angle. but im going to have my tech cut the pipe and put it at a 45!!!

What type of CAI intake? Some cheap ones give you a CEL. The high end name brands tend to be better about not giving CEL lights.

You can try resetting your ECU if you haven't already and clean your MAF sensor. Also, just make sure all the clamps are tight and secure good.

It is a cheap one. Some co-worker bought it for me off eBay, I believe, which is why I'd like a new one! I've already reset the ECU and cleaned the MAF. Another thing is that my startup is rough and the shift points are off at times. I'm sure this also has to do with the intake but I could be wrong of course.

Why not just use the stock intake/air box?
