Well in a period of one week and about 600 miles my car burned a guart of oil.... Looks like I might be buying myself yet another engine... Oh joy....

Before anything starts I'm not 100% here as to what is going on... I just noticed when I filled up tonight after work. (Good practice to check oil every time you get gas but I usually only remember to do it every other time)

I may have hit my oil pan but my oil cap WAS on tight... Looks like tomorrow I'm gonna get under my car Hopefully I won't have to call a junkyard

Just letting you guys know, if you care... I'm sure plenty of you don't

Maybe I have an excuse to build a motor now.... now to find the money....

 

^ depends what the problem is - you dont want to blow a rebuilt engine because its not getting oil or because of temp issues. Do you have an oil temp or oil press gauge?

 

nope... wanted to get one when I had the SC but when that motor went I mysteriously ran outta money lol... I'm hoping its something stupid but I just crawled under for a quick peak and the oil pan was fine...

 

what year was the 2nd engine? cuz i thought all the engine probs came from 05 engines?

 

yup early 05 but not too many 06 engines were in junkyards yet so I didn't have much choice in the matter... Unless I wanted to drop the dealer price of 6k in a crate motor

 

thanks, i have an early 06 which will hopefully be running under boost soon if i can get something to work...
