Default NST Light weight crank pulley or Agency Power crank pulley

ok i been seeing that the agency light weight crack pulley gives you about 10 whp and 11 lb of torque and is the best one for the tc as far as power gains but i laos heard the NST is good also..i would think any aftermarket crack pulley gives you the same power or is that not true

here what i read to get most power of your tc without using turbo the best setup consit of this

Catback exhaust.....anything other then stock

then Invidia downpipe..

injen cai

DME header

Agency light weight crack pulley

Now i dont know if this is true or is the best setup for the tc its what i read on other sites that sat dyno proven but thats just words no numbers to back it up

what do you think

My setup is:

Injen CAI
Megan Racing S-Pipe
Megan Drift Spec Cat Back
NST 20% Underdrive Pulley

Great setup and noticeable gains

I am leaning NST jsut because you can buy the whole set from them......both are gonna give pretty much the same output.

but isnt a lighten crank pulley going to cause vibration on the crankshaft and throw it off balance?

Removing the harmonic balancer and installing lightweight undampened crank pulleys will cause harmonic vibrations out of the range that the balance shafts were intended to remove. This harmonic vibration will damage engines over time.

The only balancer I would run is an ATI

Don,

Historically you are correct about the balancer, but with over 40 pages of positive discussion
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...y+power+pulley

The people cant be wrong!

With some cases illustrating over 65k miles with no issues whatsoever what we need to do is find out the definition of long term ill effects. Maybe 100+ miles?

I'm not saying anyone was wrong. I'm just speaking from experience. The damage they cause is primarily to Main Bearings. Something you wouldn't see on something mildly modded. However on highly modded vehicles harmonics become problems.

I'd rather not recommend any lightweight undampened pulley.

if your gonna go with a lightweight pulley and thats all your gonna go with for hte pulley itself. I suggest instead of the nst lightweight pulley. Go with the NST underdrive lightweight pulley. That one produces both benefits of being lightweight but also with quicker acceleration and revs. Im running on that right now and i love it.
