NY state Inspection woes
Hey guys its that time of the year again.
The NY inspection is due this is my first inspection i will be under going with a boosted Tc.
My check engine light seems to come on exactly every 200miles.
some people i have heard from (not scion people) say it takes about 100 miles for the ECU to be ready for emissions testing is 200 this long enough for the ECU to be ready ?
is there anything else the mechanic will be looking for with a car i still have one CAT?
Thanks for any input

In NYS CEL = No pass its bc it goes into the computer I have a turbo on mine and I have a CEL Eliminator in the 2nd o2 sensor. Just get the code checked at Autozone or w.e and dont pull the battery bc you need to drive 200 miles to get it to reset or they won't even inspect your car. I also work at a stealership so I know what I needed to fix. Almost anything can trip ur CEL so it may not even be an o2 problem but the closer you get to the end of the month the more your going to get screwed bc they will pull ur inspection sticker. Luckily you dont need to pass an emissions test hopefully they dont care if your missing cats bc those are just visually check. Most places do not as long as your not throwing a CEL.
Off topic, but where the hell in fairport do you live? I wasn't aware of any other boosted scions in this area? hahaha
As for the code, we cleared mine and another boosted scions by clearing the code, and driving 50 miles WITHOUT going over 3k RPM. Drive slow and shift low, that should help clear it. Once you get to 50 miles go get it inspected. We are lucky enough to have a friend who does inspections, so he looks over the whole no cat thing.

Well not every place does that bc of the fine from the state that would come on who ever inspected it for manipulating their system is BIG! I work at a dealership ive seen/ heard it all. I would just fix the CEL its prob just an o2 or vacuum problem.
scangauge will work to get rid of the light, but it will not delete all the codes completely from the system. I generally have to use a cheap autotel scanner for that, the one at AutoZone should work as well.
