So I changed my oil about a month ago and apparently I did not screw on the oil cap properly . I guess it was crooked so it felt like i was screwing it on but instead I was just kind of wedging it into the filler hole.
Anyway it eventually get a little looser and I just so happened to peek under my hood today for no reason and found oil splattered on my engine cover, alternator bracket, and my DC Sports Headers. The oil wiped pretty clean
off everything except for my headers where there is still some spots. It really isn't to noticeable but if you see it it looks like rust :gag: .

Anyone know an effective way to get this oil off my headers with out damaging the ceramic coating?

only thing i could think of is wetsanding, but as you said, it might damage the ceramic coating...

 

yeah I'm not so sure I want to take sand paper to my headers lol

 

it probably burned on, you might be screwed if you want to maintain the finish.

Send it to Jet-Hot. i had the same issue with spots and rust. i tried header paint that pealed right off after i started the car
It also holds heat a lot better which means more power and they give you a 5 yr warranty against fading pr rust.

if it were me i would just take some degreaser and a pressure wash the whole engine bay (with all the covers on of course)...
