Default Okay, tired of the intake bracket problem.

Im getting tired of the rattle from the bracket being broken,(the transmission mount bracket for K&N) from the intake. I have tired a few things except getting a new braket made. Anyone have any advice on what to do about this or a bracket idea.

I made a bracket out of 1/4" steek, On the motor mount near the intake there is a weight that bolts to the top to help with cabin vibration. That was where one side of the bracket went. The othere side mounted on the bottom of the vibration mount on the intake mount. Works good. I would post picks but It will not let me.

Try and post some pics because that would be really helpful.

Maybe an Ingalls ETD would help.

It won't I had that on my car already when mine broke. All it did was delay it breaking my car took 20,000+ and my friends took less than 1,000. The reason it breaks is b/c of the cheap thin medal.

i used 3/16" aluminum and mounted it to a bolt on the fender (blue circle) near where the bracket that breaks is located (red circle). I found this place to work just fine with no problems in over a year. I did use vib mount. Sorry no pic of mine since I took the intake off over the summer. Hopefully this is close enough.

Zip ties for the win.

I haven't broken yet, but they're on there. They do a good job of dampening it.

I cant view the pic but I get what your talking about. I use zip ties and they make all kind of noise and it annoys me.

my bracket broke right on top of the transmission mount.... I JB welded it together again, but I guess it didn't sit long enough, now it looks ugly and broken, but no rattle.

I haven't made a new bracket for mine, but as a temp fix I took pipeing insolation and wrapped it around the pipe just where it goes through the wheel well cause it would rattle against it and cut into the pipe. Check yours at this point. I have it so snugg right now it makes no noise and rides nice. Just got to play around the shop one night and come up with a new bracket mount some time soon.
